Since 1996, Ragsdale Heating, Air, Plumbing and Electrical has worked to maintain our reputation as the name you can trust for your heating, cooling, plumbing and electrical needs. Our Ragsdale team is comprised of truly good people, who care deeply and are devoted to taking exceptional care of our customers, our community, and each other. From the people in our office to the technicians out on the road, everyone here is dedicated to 100% customer satisfaction. We are a family who treats you like family, and we are 100% focused on doing what is right every time, every day. Our goal is for you to take comfort in knowing that when you have a problem, Ragsdale is here for you.

"Although the technicians are very nice. As a company Ragsdale has failed us miserably. We spent about 18K to have our whole system upgraded and new insulation in the attic. We followed the recommendation of their sales person to the letter. He ASSURED us that in spending all that money we would not have any more issues cooling our home. Immediately there were more issues. The A/C unit they installed outside dies in 3 days. It was a lemon I guess. And when they went to replace that they also saw that the sales person didn’t notice that the circuit breaker was not the right one to handle the new unit. They had recommended we add new intakes in two rooms so we had done that as well. Like I said we did everything he told us we needed to do to solve any cooling issues. Still two rooms don’t cool well, my office and our master bedroom. We have reached out a few times and they send someone to look. Every time they have different recommendations from a second unit to another thermostat, tinting the windows, keep the blinds closed etc. I have tinted the windows and we keep the blinds closed, but another unit or another thermostat are just not things we can afford to pay for out of pocket. Two times I was told a supervisor would reach out to us but they never did. The guy today, again he was very nice. Said we should buy wireless sensors to connect to our thermostat so it knows to keep cooling. That’s another $100 out of our pocket. He said there should be a second cooling vent in our master bedroom as well. Yet another thing they didn’t recommend when we bought this system that we were assured would be more than enough to cool our home. All these things we would have considered and/or done if we were told they were needed when we spent the money. But the I think commissioned sales person didn’t really know what he was doing now. He was just looking to make a sale and didn’t care wether it actually fixed the issue or not, he got paid either way. Again today I try to call and speak to someone before I left this review. I sat on home for 5-10 min with the recording telling me my place in line and to hold to speak to someone. Just to get the general voicemail to leave a message. We are stuck with them now, they do the warranty work so they do the yearly maintenance to keep the warranty. But I would NOT recommend til his company to anyone right now. They have completely failed us and taken our money without actually doing what their sales person assured us would happen. Very disappointed avoid them for your own good"

"I consulted Angi on Easter Sunday April 20, 2025 after the septic backed up into the shower the previous night. Called several of the listed vendors; however, the only one taking call on the Holiday was Routerproxpress. The only reason I chose this company was because they could come out on Easter Sunday. They told me that they would arrive between 2 and 6 pm. I had a call at 4:30 that their trucks tanks were full and there was no place open on Easter to dump the trucks tanks. They rescheduled to Monday April 21 between two to six. I requested that they come after 4:30 since I had a very important appointment with my bank. They said they could arrange that. At 3:20 I had a call from the technician that he had located the tank and instead of the $500 quoted on the phone It would be $887, due to the large size of the septic tank at 1500 gallons and a large amount of solids. This seemed high but I wanted the problem taken care of ASAP, so I okayed the work. He also told me he thought there was a break in the line between the septic tank and the cross over line to the drainage field. Quoted over $6000 for the repair. I told him I wanted to get a second opinion and estimate before I would approve any further work. I also asked if it would be possible to use the toilets, sinks, and showers for a week or two while I did so. He said that would be okay. I instructed him to put the cover back on the tank and leave the dirt off the top. Later that night, the septic backed up again, this time flooding the basement. I contacted the office who called a manager John. John came out to see what happened at my request. He told me that he would call a water mitigation company and that routerproxpress or insurance would take care of it. A company called Propertymedics called me shortly and came out at 2 am on Tuesday am on April 22. They were pressing me to sign a work contract but I informed him (Claud) that Router pro xpress had called them out and said they would be responsible for the water mitigation. Claud said he suspected a blockage rather than a break in the line. I called the RXP office on Tuesday April22, ultimately speaking to the owner, Jeff. I explained that I was quite unhappy that we had flooded after the technician said it was okay to use the sinks, toilets . I was suspicious that the technician hadn t emptied the tank considering he was gone when I arrived 20 minutes after he had called me. And he had misdiagnosed the problem and given us the wrong information about using the sinks, toilets and showers. I said I would give him a poor review, contact Angi, and was considering a charge back to my credit card. He said the work was already done and he would put a lien on my house if I did. He said he would send a crew to do the repair and I better be ready to pay the $6000 plus bill then. I told him he should come with the crew and I would be there in person. The office said they would be out between 2 and 6 pm. In the meanwhile, I was planning to have another service provider out to diagnose my septic problem and get a quote and to be on hand when RXP showed up."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Yes, most states require plumbers to have a license, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed plumber could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

Before finding the right plumber for your job, there are a few questions that you should ask, including:

  • Are you licensed and insured?

  • Do you charge for estimates?

  • Is your fee a flat rate, or is it hourly?

  • Who will do the work? Are they all licensed and qualified plumbers?

  • What happens if any breaks or damages occur?

  • What is your response time in an emergency?

  • Is cleanup included in the quote?

  • Do your services come with a guarantee?

Discussing these questions with your plumbing contractor will help eliminate future issues and clarify expectations.

Before your plumber pays you a visit, it’s a good idea to clean up any boxes, garbage, or other obstacles that could be in their way. In addition, it’s best practice to clean the area that needs to be inspected or worked on, like a toilet, for example. Make sure to keep kids and pets out of the way once the plumber arrives.

Answered by Angi Experts

Endorsed by 47 pros

Typically, plumbing repairs cost about $325 per job but can range from $175 to $4,000 or more. Simple fixes, such as a toilet repair, will be less expensive at around $150 to $400. However, if you have a pipe that has burst, you can expect to pay between $1,000 and $4,000 or more.

The project that needs to be completed, the size of your home, and the type of plumbing pipes you have can all impact the final cost. External factors such as supply chain issues and shortage of materials all play a part in how much this repair might be.

A faucet replacement vs. a failed waste line flooding a finished basement would be at opposite ends of a very broad spectrum. "A plumbing repair" could range from perhaps a $150 minimum service charge up to tens of thousands of dollars for a substantial repair and associated cleanup, finish work, etc.

Answered by Dave Beck at Classy Craftsmen LLC in Cincinnati, OH on 01/09/25

Plumbing repairs can be complex. Often there is damage or breakage in areas that can't be seen without being examined thoroughly. Plumbers will investigate the issue and then let you know what to expect.

Answered by Lee Sentell at Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of South Orange County in Southfields, NY on 01/06/25

Prices can range from $60 to $20,000. Many factors determine the cost of a plumbing job. Things such as the cost of materials, size of the home, the difficulty of the job, travel time, contractor liability, would walls or floors need to be opened and repaired. All these factors and more can greatly affect the cost of a job.

Answered by Glenn Durand at Flat Rate Services Charlotte in Indian Land, SC on 01/13/25

Plumbing costs obviously vary from job to job. You can expect to pay anywhere from $225 - $400 for your average repair of a faucet or toilet. Frozen broken pipes are a much more difficult item to put a price tag on. The best course is to try to correct it as soon as possible: These tend to get worse rather than better, which means more costly. You will obviously be paying more for after hour emergency services, but time is of the essence.

Answered by Tony Coscia at TC Plumbing in Orange, CT on 01/10/25

The average cost to hire a plumber is around $100 an hour but can vary between $45 and $200 an hour depending on the plumber’s experience and the repair that you need. It’s also important to note that these prices can go up on holidays, and emergency plumber rates average $150 per hour, in addition to a flat-rate trip fee of $100 to $350.
