I had a brand new heat pump system installed in April 2023. They sent subcontractors to install it who were very unprofessional and they left bare wires hanging out of the machine and it did not look like it was installed correctly. It stopped working completely 4 times in 5 months, the last time was on October 10, service tech said, “I really don’t agree with the way they installed it “ he said the wires were barely connected so it kept losing power. He got it working again and left. Two weeks ago it got cold and we turned the system to heat for the very first time. It blew cold air. We made ANOTHER service call. The technician said that a switch had “gone bad” because, “they wear out” we explained that we have never used the heat even once, so how could the switch be worn out. Then they advised they had to order a part. Over a week later the part came in and they returned and that still didn’t fix. Now they say the compressor has, “gone bad” and when we reiterated that we have never even used it so how is it worn out they answered, “they just go bad sometimes” we still don’t have heat, they say they have to order more parts. We asked them to look over the whole system because we don’t think it is installed right and I am genuinely concerned that it is a fire hazard and they looked at it, put electrical tape on some hanging wires and left. We have had to take SIX days off work so far and buy space heaters and we are no closer to having a working system. This unit is less then SIX MONTHS OLD. At this point I have no choice but to pursue legal action. This whole experience has been terrible and has cost me hundreds in missed time at work and I’m still paying for a system that does not work.

First let me say I have had Reliable install a new whole house HV/AC unit, as well as a new tankless water heater. For both of those jobs our quote and install went very smoothly. The team arrived on time, installed everything exactly like I expected, and answered questions and communicated what they were doing very well. So, naturally based upon prior service, I called them to install a Mini-Split Cassette in my home. The sales representative arrived on time, and we walked through the entire process and what would be needed. The quote was approximately 4 times the cost of the unit, but I understand there was a lot of work involved so I signed the contract. On June 8th the day of the installation, no one showed at the scheduled time, so I called them later in the day. I was told the parts didn’t arrive so they couldn’t install the unit. I would think Reliable would call me to tell me this vs me having to call them. We rescheduled the installation for June 15th and the technicians arrived only to tell me the unit wouldn’t fit between the ceiling joists, and they couldn’t install it until I made modifications to the ceiling for the unit to fit. Here again, I would think Reliable would know the vast majority of home have wall studs and ceiling joist on 16” center so of course a 23” unit wouldn’t fit. The technician informed me that once I made the modification to the ceiling they could come back and do the installation. At that time, I informed the Reliable sales representative Ian of what had happened, and he informed me that Bruce, the Installation Manager, would call me to verify what was needed. A week went by, and no one contacted me, so on June 22 I called the main office again, and after explaining what had happened, the customer service representative assured me that Bruce would return my call that day. NO CALL BACK. I called a week later on June 29th, and again I was assured that Bruce would return my call that day…and once again….a week went by with ....NO CALL BACK. I called again a week later on July 6th, and again I was assured that Bruce would return my call that day…..again…. NO CALL BACK. I called July 7th…… was assured that Bruce would return my call that day. ….NO CALL BACK. So, I am thinking maybe I just need to schedule another home visiting to discuss the installation again. I scheduled the home visit for July 8th between 10 and 12. I received an immediate text confirmation that the Reliable Representative would be arriving on July 8th between 10 and 12. To my amazement the representative was just a "No Show", and I received No Text, No Call. Unfortunately, It's obvious after 30 days of being ignored I have to believe that “Reliable” heating and air is no longer Reliable, and they need to change their name.

I would never recommend this company know what I hire them ever again! Had an appointment this morning between 8 and 10 AM and they did not show up until 1230. The technician showed without the equipment to install the water heater. The excuse that I received was that the company did not tell him that it was a water heater install so he did not bring a water heater. But I signed a contract stating that I was having a water heater installed, so how that was not relayed to the technician I do not know. So we had to reschedule for the following week. So basically, they have no problem. Wasting your Saturdays but I did receive a call about my credit card number. So they’re all about getting the money. Just not doing the work. Do not hire.

Ever since my system was installed it has been a disaster. Bad heat strip. Tech didn't have one on his truck. 5-6 hours later heat strip is finally installed. Then the second tech has to get on his phone with another guy so he can program my thermostat. I was told these were seasoned professional HVAC techs. Next I get an error message on my thermostat. Next day guy comes out and says I have a short in the unit outside. The unit is less than a week old. I believe at this point Reliable needs to bring out a whole new system and swap it out. I hope it doesn't burn my house down.

Reliable was out 3 times in less than a week to attempt to fix a new ac unit they put in. Third trip out, it was determined that a part in the coil was damaged. Technician said he was ordering the part right then and someone would call us the next morning to update us on when the part would be in. Mind you, it is in the 90’s, I have my elderly mom and 2 year old grand daughter in the house with us. It has now been 2 days and no one knows anything about our part. We have asked to speak to a manager or supervisor for 2 days, multiple times during the day, and no one has called us back. My husband is in the retail business and there is always a manager or supervisor available, or they call them back within the hour. Since they have sold, their customer service, professionalism, and overall service is horrible! Now I’m stuck using them because the unit is under warranty!

Right after installing the UNIT, security system stoped working since installer broke wire in the attic. 3 weeks later, brand new AC stopped working. Called their servicing department several times in past couple of days but NOTHING. Indoor temperature reaching almost 80 and with elderly mother-in-law having difficulty sleeping at night, having explained all that to CSR, her response, there are several incidents going around so we will try to get to us, when they can. Just Pathetic!!!! Having this much trouble with Brand new system so don't know what kind of service will we get in future. Looking for option to return the equipment and getting something more reliable.

The technician knew his job and did it well. My only complaint is with the company itself that sets the cost for work. To replace a hose on a hand-held shower, a hose we already had, was quoted at $140. It would have been a 10-minute job. The sink repair was fine.
