"DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY We chose Jack Rabbit based on a recommendation from a friend, expecting professionalism, transparency, and quality service. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of those expectations. At the time I was gathering quotes, my husband, a professional engineer was not home. He also wasn’t present during the installation. To ensure clarity, I had Jack Rabbit’s engineer/salesperson speak with him by phone. That conversation quickly turned tense, as the salesperson was dismissive and disrespectful toward my husband’s expertise. It was clear the salesperson was more concerned with defending his ego than engaging in an honest, informed discussion. With temperatures soaring and no AC for a few days, I made a rushed decision to move forward with Jack Rabbit, trusting that they would honor their agreement to match a competitor’s quote not just in price, but in equipment and specifications. That promise was a key reason I chose them. Sadly, what we received did not reflect that commitment. The AC unit installed was not the higher-end model we were led to expect, and the discrepancy only came to light after the fact. I left messages for upper management and the owner, hoping to discuss our disappointment and give the company an opportunity to acknowledge where things went wrong. To date, I have received no return call. That silence speaks volumes about their commitment to customer service and accountability. This experience has left us feeling misled and disappointed. What should have been a straightforward and respectful transaction turned into a frustrating ordeal marked by poor communication, broken promises, and a lack of integrity and money out the window. Now that we’ve paid thousands of dollars, to include a one-year service agreement, I find myself asking: do I even dare have them come back? Can I trust them to do right by us? Sadly, they already have our money, and based on this experience, I have little confidence they’ll stand behind their work. If you’re considering this company, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. Reputation means nothing without integrity, and based on my experience, Jack Rabbit does not stand behind their word or their work. Positive Note: The installer Dejour was excellent, so patient and understanding. So professional and took the time to explain things to me, when others from the company wouldn't clarify. "Absolutely appalled by the unprofessional manner of this company. We called this company as a second opinion for an issue with our AC. After the first quote we had a general idea of the issue but being naive to this matter we thought it best to get a second opinion. The technician- ISMEAL SAMANO- absolutely tried to take advantage of the fact that only myself was here (female,29) and not my husband. After getting the feeling this was happening - I followed my gut and called my husband to have him speak with the tech directly (all of which was on speaker, I was able to hear everything). This tech spoke of many issues - suggested a whole new AC UNIT, and then casually let my husband know he would be "rinsing off the coil, probably won't do much, but may help for now". At the time of payment, I received a total of $221.30. The original price of the quote was $89. Confused I asked the technician to please explain the additional cost. He seemed lost.. Could only say that "I normally HAVE to charge close to $300 for that rinse service, I dont feel comfortable doing to that you. So I charged you the least I could." - Which was around $130.00 for a rinse... of our water. I made sure to ask if this was proper procedure for their technicians to performs tasks on a unit that cost money to the homeowners, without their knowledge. No reply. Before the technician left, my husband and I made sure to ask what exactly that rinse did, are we able to run the unit now at least? This technician told us yes. Although the technician from days prior from COOL TODAY made sure to tell us to try to leave it off as much as possible due to overheating. Scared of what can happen in that instance I made sure to be clear to ask this technician again that it is safe to keep on. He said yes again, just as the unit shut off and can very audibly hear it attempting to kick back on (causing it to overheat). I pointed this out to him and he attempted to say it was because our thermostat was set to that temperature, that is why it cut off. I immediately went to set it lower to show him that is not the case, that it won't kick back on and stay. But instead, this technician absolutely knew we were skeptical of him and his request for payment and that his "rinse" for $130 did absolutely nothing. He nearly ran out the door. After going through all of this I attempted right away to call customer service to inquire if this is proper procedure for their technicians to do this without homeowner approval. Her response was "No, but it sounds like there may have been things said I don't know about, so wait for 12 hours and well get back to you". Absolutely appalled. I greatly pride myself on my involvement with my community and close-knit relationship with my mom groups online. I am happy I am at least able to spread this awareness so all my other Mama's can avoid being targeted by despicable company. Be safe and aware Mama's, ladies, and everyone without proper knowledge!"
