"They were suppose to pump our septic & they said they came out & pumped 1000 gallons but our septic kept backing up we called another company & they came out & told us that our solids side (which is what they should of pumped out) wasn’t touched! we have cameras & the cameras never caught them on our property. At all we paid $569 ‘ its been 2 weeks & we had to pay another $500 for a different company to come out & do it the right way!"

Perc tests that require wider or deeper holes and those that require multiple holes dug throughout your property will take longer because there’s more excavation involved. The actual filling of the hole and monitoring to gauge the rate of percolation should take under an hour per hole.

The average cost of excavation is around $3,200. Most jobs fall somewhere between $500 and $15,000, depending on the amount of soil to remove, whether or not there are landscaping features or structures in the vicinity that could complicate the excavation, and the quality and contents of the soil. Larger jobs will naturally cost more, as will those in tight spaces that demand manual excavation as opposed to using heavy machinery. Hard soil and tree roots can also extend the job and drive up your labor costs.
