They have subcontractors that did all the work. The project manager did NOT have a color chart for me to look at for color of stamped cement that we were replacing it with. The SUBCONTRACTOR made sure that I FINLLY got a color chart..... The day before the driveway was to be poured. After the SLIPPERY driveway was completed...... by Ross Services standards. Meaning.... I still found the overall project unfinished because they still hadn't filled in the gullys that were along the sides from where the old driveway had been removed and the driveway was EXTREMELY slippery! I wanted to make sure all permits were at least passed and closed. The project manager was upset with me because I wanted to make sure all the subcontractors were paid by Ross Services and the permits were final before I made final payment. The project manager was extremely condescending to me throughout the entire project. When I gave him half of the final payment (because I still didn't have all the permits signed off.) He said in his usual condescending and Kurt tone..."Well, I'm not coming all the way here to get the rest of the payment! You're going to have to get it to me!" FINALLY, he managed to call to have the final inspections. (When I called for the exact same thing a year ago, it only took one day. It took him nearly a month!) I sent my final payment to the owner...because I could not stand to even be around this "project manager" any longer. Plus, I wanted to let him know that the job was not satisfactory......I wrote a letter to the owner, Brian Ross of Ross Services stating that I was still UNsatisfied with the gullys that were still dug out along the sides of the driveway. This is a HUGE hazard! I also expresses my dissatisfaction on how slippery the driveway was. (They never put a no-skid mixture in with the sealant.) I waited 2 weeks to drive on the driveway after completion to make double sure it was completely dry. The driveway is on an incline. It was so slippery that my tires spun out on it going up.....making tire tracks and tearing the brand new top coat off as I slid backwards down it. (This driveway is at my 80 year old mother's home.) The owner never even bothered to call me back. This was such an unpleasant experience. I am going to have to pay ADDITIONAL money on my brand new driveway to have the gullys along the side filled and a no-skid surface applied on top. I blame the "project manager for his incompetence and blatant rude and condesending tone. But, ultimately, the owner of he company has the last say.....after all, he hired this "project manager", and when I expresses my dissatisfaction, he did NOTHING!

Imagine each subcontractor having long term relationships with that vendor. Then imagine each subcontractor (such as M S International premium surfaces and Mike and Lori Sergio of M.S. Two visits were needed to reach an agreement. The references provided checked out; however, I did not check either the Better Business Bureau or the State of Michigan. There was no firm start date on our contract (a big mistake). The verbal start date was missed by three weeks with an excuse that countertops would not be ready. In retrospect , nearly the entire job could have been done without the countertops. When the job did start, I learned that Vestal had subcontracted the job out. . Here are the things that I missed. The Better Business Bureau had two dozens complaints on Vestal. The State of Michigan had two open formal investigations.
Nobody even thinks of termination of a contract. The termination clause in the Vestal contract is 33% of the total value of the project. THATS NOT 33% OF YOUR DEPOSIT. ITS 2/3 OF YOUR DEPOSIT. My 1/3 of the deposit was promptly refunded. Prior to our termination, Matt Vestal did cooperate in connecting me with his cabinet supplier in Chicago. I drove to Chicago and picked up my own cabinets. Luckily, I had a minivan that I could drive the 100 plus miles. When I informed the subcontractor, he informed me that would no longer work for Vestal. Matt Vestal was ready, willing and able to complete the job however it was now December with my children coming for Christmas and no kitchen. I formally terminated our agreement.
Luckily the foundation work done by Vestal's subcontractor was first rate. Luckily I had sufficient money, credit and friends to finish the job on December 22 with work still going on as I drove to OHare to pick up my children. The kitchen was done by Christmas.

"I hired this company to put in a generator after seeing their commercials on TV, and seeing all the high reviews online. I can say that my experience has been horrible. First off, the permitting process took months, just to get the approval to install the generator. After the install, city permitting workers came out countless times sighting issues that needed to be resolved that seemingly didn’t get resolved because they’d get flagged again for the same issues. The biggest being they installed the generator too close to the natural gas line, which caused them to move the generator over about 18 inches and needing to install a giant junction box on the outside wall of my house. Not a great look. During the install and clearing permits, it’s almost impossible to get ahold of anyone to get a status update. I’d call and leave messages, email – repeatedly – before I’d finally get someone to reply. Fast forward a year, I discovered they installed one of the junction boxes incorrectly to my pool heater, causing it to fill up with water… so another repair. Now after the first year they hit you with a $600 per year contract to continue to monitor the generator for issues. Even after I signed it, I still get an email asking me to sign up every couple of weeks.. I’ve responded a dozen times telling them I’ve signed up for the monitoring program and to stop emailing me. Now the icing on the cake. I’m paying $600 a year for them to 'monitor' for problems. Today we lost power and the generator didn’t turn on. Looked at my mobile app, and it shows the cell signal used to monitor the generator isn’t working. I open the generator and the control panel that runs the entire system is blank and not working. Obviously a major problem… and isn’t that why I’m paying $600 a year for Reliable to monitor for problems and fix them before they cause an issue? This monitoring program is a scam. If they were actually monitoring the system they would've seen that my generator didn't exercise on Monday as scheduled, and that I've been offline over a week! Calling to ask that question just got me on the line with some low level customer service person, who can’t do anything but set an appointment a week from now. If you’re going to install a generator, look elsewhere."

Elcon Electric of South Florida has been providing homeowners & businesses alike with expert electrical services for over 35 Years. We'll provide you with quality work at honest prices.
"What a mistake I made in hiring Elcon. Their estimate was 25% more than my other estimate from a licensed well-reviewed electrician, but I went with Elcon because I thought hiring a large company would help ensure things went smoothly, efficiently and give me some peace of mind. Unfortunately, the result was just the opposite. There were two fairly simple jobs. The first was to install an outlet on the opposite side of drywall where there is already a switch. The electrician took out the switch where you can clearly see the other side of the wall yet he still cut right in front of the stud exposing over 4 inches of stud. Why he didn’t use a stud finder or drill a small hole first before cutting completely baffles me. He did fess up to it immediately and patched it, but never even apologized. I had to match/buy paint to match the wall and cover the patch. Next he installed a non-GFI outlet in a laundry room which is against NEC code. When I informed him that the outlet was not to code, he said their estimator didn’t put a GFI on the quote. Yet I specifically requested a GFI outlet in my email to them - both in writing AND in a photo of the job. Why neither their estimator nor their electrician followed NEC code was concerning, but he did switch the outlet eventually. The other job was to install an outdoor wired box which was clearly titled as such on the quote. When I showed the electrician where the box was to be installed, he said he didn’t have a box with him. How he did not have one of only two fixtures needed for the job is beyond me. Also, instead of going to get the box before starting the job, he did it after the wires were threaded and exposed. He was gone for 40 minutes when there is a Lowes right next door to me. If it had rained, all of my entire pool wiring (which he wired up to) would have gotten wet. I paid him in full and contacted their office via email to explain what happened. Their office manager did apologize, but her unhelpful solution to my wasted time and extra money I had spent to paint was to schedule more time with me so their estimator could “spot check” the electrician’s work. Now, not only does their lack of trust in their own electrician make me worry about the completed install, but this would have been the third time I had to take time away from work and for their convenience. This is because instead of using the detailed request and photos I sent them of the job, the estimator still wanted to see it in person. And when the estimator arrived, he asked questions that were already in my request and took the same photos I already sent. When I finally pointed out that it was all in my request and photos, he then looked and was surprised it was all already there. Thankfully, I only scheduled Elcon for two of the four jobs they estimated for me. I was going to schedule those at a later date but after this experience, I decided to hire another company for the remaining jobs and will be sure to have them check all of Elcon’s work."

Qualified, licensed electricians will charge from $50 to $100 per hour. The cost to hire an electrician for emergency visits may range from $100 to $200 per hour because this urgent service usually takes place during off hours and may require an electrician to leave or reschedule jobs they’re currently working on. Scheduling work on holidays or during periods of high customer demand, like after a major storm, will also lead to higher rates or extra fees.
