"South Cooling provided an exceptional service. Technicians arrived on time and were able to fix the issues of concern in a timely fashion. I would recommend this company to whomever needs their AC fixed. Prices were also very reasonable in comparison to other quotes I received. I was very pleased with the overall service(s)."

"It was a fantastic experience. I must compliment Kevin the sales manager at Sansone. His knowledge of the product and the way he completed the sale was fantastic. I must recommend and compliment the installation crew of Lewis and George. Very professional and knowledgeable. Most important is what Kevin promised was delivered."

"They are offering two routine checkups, but are often going to come across some sort of problem that would require multiple visits where you would need to pay additional fees. They send younger less experienced technicians for the routine checkups who could not handle fixing the issue he found. They then send someone of higher ability to analyze the issue, and then send someone else who can actually resolve it. This amounted to 3 visits over 3 days. I ended up paying $200 for repairs to my A/C Unit that is less than a year old. It was generous of them to refund the $79 for the big deal. They gave an estimate for another installation which I declined because I wasn't happy with their service. They also tried to schedule my 2nd routine checkup the next month. They should be around 6 months apart, back to back visits seem unnecessary."

Install Boiler FAQs, answered by experts

The average lifespan of a boiler is typically between 15 and 20 years, though some may last for as little as 10 years while others can reach 30. A boiler's longevity is influenced by several factors, including the quality of the unit, proper installation, and consistent professional maintenance.

The material also plays a significant role. Older boilers made from durable cast iron can last for over 20 years, with some functioning for up to 50 years. However, it's important to consider their lower efficiency, which can lead to higher utility bills. Modern boilers, often made from steel alloys, are designed to withstand high pressure and temperatures and have an average lifespan of about 20 years.

To maximize your boiler's lifespan, ensure it is installed correctly, have it professionally maintained each year, and address any necessary repairs immediately.

Overall, heating your home with an oil furnace tends to be less expensive than heating your home with an electric heating system. Oil heating systems stay warm for longer periods of time without drawing a constant electrical current to maintain a temperature. Plus, heating oil systems typically have a longer lifespan and lower price tag than their electrical counterparts, resulting in short- and long-term savings.

On average, you’ll need about two gallons of oil per day to heat your house when it’s 50 degrees Fahrenheit outside. Most oil tank capacity is about 275 gallons, and heating your house with two gallons of oil per day will last about four and a half months. This consumption will vary depending on the climate and average temperature in your location. For example, if the winters are longer and colder where you live, you’ll probably need to refill your oil tank at least once to get through the winter.

No, boilers and water heaters are not interchangeable because they serve different primary functions. Boilers are used for central heating systems, providing hot water or steam to heat your home. In contrast, a water heater's purpose is to supply hot water for daily household use, such as for faucets and showers. A water heater alone cannot supply the warm water or steam needed for a central heating system.

While they are not interchangeable, it is common to have both a boiler and a water heater. In fact, a conventional boiler often works best when a water heater system is already in place. The two systems can be combined to provide both heating and hot water, either by pairing a boiler with an indirect water heater or by installing a premade combination boiler-water heater unit. For home heating, some homeowners may also opt for a furnace instead of a boiler.

Yes, you can build a sunroom addition to your home despite living in a cold climate. Make sure to use high-quality insulation and windows and to supplement with sufficient heating from your HVAC system. The windows in the sunroom allow enough natural light into the room to help heat it most times without having to use the furnace. Even a small electric fireplace can heat the sunroom well enough.
