"Aaron called ten minutes before arriving at the time promised. He listened when i described and showed the reasons why his company was called. He went into the attic vial a small closet opening. He got ladders from his truck to remove what he found in two locations and put mesh over one vent as well as nailing up a drooping soffit on the 2nd story to prevent reoccurance. When he was finished, he explained what he found and the reason the birds got in."

"We had what we thought was a bird stuck inside one of our walls. We called Alleviation (based on reviews) on a Saturday. Demetrius called right back, came same day and expertly diagnosed the situation. It was a squirrel not a bird! Instead of profiting off of us for preventative things we could do ourselves, he spent time describing what was needing and giving us instructions for completing at a lower cost. A great guy and expert."

"It took Mohamed quite a bit of time to locate an appropriate-sized exterior vent cap to put on the exhaust fan duct running from over the kitchen stove. But he persevered and was able to make full repairs on that ductwork and also on two bathroom ceiling exhaust fans. Old bird nests had blocked the kitchen fan duct, so Mohamed had to coax out all that rubbish so the vent fan could discharge air properly. His ladder went up to the second story level on uneven ground. A gutsy guy!"

"The first 2 quarterly treatments went great. They were responsive, punctual and professional. I noticed immediate effects of their treatments. They came once between the 2 treatments when I informed them spotting of a cockroach. That, too, went well and I hadn't seen any cockroaches after that. The A ratings reflected those times of service. Close to the scheduling of the third quarterly treatment, I sent an e-mail to the service provider right before Thanksgiving via Angie's List email service letting them know spotting of a different breed of cockroach (perhaps the German type; the previous ones were Asians). I didn't hear from them after that which was odd. Usually, they were pretty good at responding to my e-mails. I forgot about that issue until the holidays were over and I still hadn't heard from the service provider. A couple of days ago, I called their numbers (both local and toll free) and both were no longer in service. This raised alarm bells. I also noticed on AL's webpage that this service provider was deficient in their contract with AL. As of today, I don't see this service provider listed on AL anymore. I lost half of my deal value since they still owe me 2 service treatments. I plan to call AL to find if there is any recourse to recover part of my purchase.

Updated on 3/23/2016,

After a few days of posting the above review and following up with Angie's List, I heard back from the provider and was able to schedule the third treatment per the contract. The technician who arrived was able to get the pest control application done quickly. I let him know that the contact phone number that was provided on Angie's List was no longer operational. It appeared they may have had some personnel changes that may have affected their lack of response to my earlier attempts to schedule an appointment. The technician promised that he would let the office management know of the communication issues and apologized for the inconvenience. I am revising my rating and giving the provider an overall B."

"We had a bush on the side of our house that had grown way out of control!. also some other trees and bushes were going down the same route.  Another tree / bush was damanged from a snowstorm and split in half.  My brother has some health issues as well as myself, so we REALLY needed help!!What a pleasant surprise!! When I researched this company on Angie's List, I noticed the owner of the company had a name of a boy that I went to grade school with.  I left a message and immediately got a call back from the owner asking me if I attended St Michael's school in Silver Spring MD.  Yep! it was true!  the owner of the company, Michael Cousins and I went to St Michael's school together!  Boy! What a small world!!  Michael came to my house to do the estamate and WOW! I still saw the same boy with the big smile that I went to school with!  (Me? I got older and a lot bigger) but time seemed to stand still.  We did the estamate but talked about a LOT of memories!! Also some catching up news on some other school mates that he kept in touch with.  I was satified with the estamate he gave and we gave approval for the work.Michael called later and confirmed the date for the labor.  They arrived on time on 5/28/12 and worked while it  was VERY HOT outside. The work was good! The damaged bush/tree now looks normal.  The new boxwood bushes now make the walkway look a lot better and the bushes (and the out of control bush) are now neatly trimmed.  Despite the hot, humid weather, the crew cleaned up nicely!  I can say me and my family are satified with all the work---Michael....Thanx for all the memories!! I will probably be calling you in the future for the next trimming!!!"

Bird Control questions, answered by experts

Popular nesting areas outside of a home include eaves, porches, gutters, and chimneys. However, some birds can make their way into your attic or ventilation systems. A reputable removal service will inspect your home's interior and exterior for any evidence of roosting and nesting birds while they prepare to remove them.

They can have a deterrent effect on birds to some extent. The reflective surfaces of these objects, such as aluminum foil strips, CDs, or reflective tape, create flashes of light and movement that can startle or confuse birds temporarily. However, some birds can become accustomed to these visual disturbances over time and might adapt their behavior accordingly. For a more sustained solution, combining shiny objects with other deterrent methods shared here is often beneficial for creating a more comprehensive and effective strategy for bird control.

You can take multiple approaches to keep animals out of your edible landscape. You can use natural repellents such as mint and cayenne pepper to deter them from your garden. You can also build a fence (or opt for a privet hedge) or keep the most enticing plants in a sectioned-off area. The most efficient method of keeping your four-legged guests at bay is to determine what animal it is and create a customized plan for them.

Woodpeckers peck at the break of dawn and take a break whenever the sun is not shining. On sunny days, expect pecking from dawn to dusk. On cloudy days, expect sporadic pecking when the sun peeks through. These birds are most active in the spring; you’ll hear them drumming as soon as the weather turns warm.

Methods include exclusion devices, netting, and sealing entry points. Professionals ensure compliance with local wildlife regulations.
