"Aidrian is the best! I had an emergency leak late on a Sunday night and he came right out and fixed everything, game me advice on how to handle repairs and educated me on what to do in the future if that happens. I then had him come out another time to install a garbage disposal. He is so easy to contact, on time, clean, professional and gave me a far better price than anyone else quoted. Itâ s great to see the price he takes in his work. A real perfectionist! He is the only person id trust for future plumbing related issues at my new house."

"This was the second time we used H L Bowman for our plumbing needs and we have been impressed both times. Their plumbers are prompt, courteous, and friendly, in addition to being great at their craft. For this visit, I had a leak under a kitchen sink and did not realize that I needed to have the entire faucet replaced. The plumber recommended the closest plumbing supply store and waited while I selected the one I wanted. He efficiently did the replacement. Very happy with H L Bowman and would highly recommend them."

Small jobs welcome

"We had a lot of fixtures to replace, each with a different challenge. I asked for quality products and Cliff delivered with American Made Prier Plumbing and PEX piping. I explained the details and he was on the job the next day. He gave me the estimate and it seemed fair. When he was done, everything looked great and worked perfectly. Cliff is easy to work with and will deliver what you specified. When he was done, he cleaned up the job sites completely. The final bill matched the estimate. No hidden charges. I would hire him again for any plumbing problems in the future. I would recommend him to everyone."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Start by confirming your water source and gathering details about your well yield and septic tank capacity. Identify your existing pipe materials, since older CT homes contain outdated supply lines. Check local wetland maps and note your foundation type, as high water tables restrict below-grade plumbing work. Finally, request your property permit history to ensure all past work complies with current codes.

Helpful?

Local permit rules require inspections after rough-in work and upon completion, ensuring your plumbing project meets safety standards. This naturally splits the work into multiple visits. Additionally, coordinating with septic or well contractors adds extra sessions. During harsh CT winters, deep ground frost forces exterior projects to be staged over time. A professional will handle this scheduling to keep your home safe.

Helpful?

Your home is a great candidate for plumbing upgrades if your private well yields enough water and your septic system has the capacity for new fixtures. Check your pipe materials, as older Monroe houses contain outdated galvanized steel or polybutylene pipes that require replacement. Assess your foundation type and local flood zones, since high water tables complicate below-grade work.

Helpful?

Prepare for minor plumbing issues by keeping a manual drain snake on hand to clear simple clogs without damaging older pipes. Stock up on pipe insulation sleeves and indoor-rated heat tape to protect vulnerable lines during freezing Monroe winters. Maintain easily accessible records of your well depth, pressure tank settings, and septic system layout to help professionals work efficiently.

Helpful?

Protect your plumbing during harsh CT winters by opening exterior cabinet doors and keeping your home above 55 degrees to prevent frozen pipes. If you notice multiple slow drains, stop using water-heavy appliances immediately, as this indicates a full septic tank. For emergencies, locate and turn off your main water valve or well pressure tank shutoff before a professional arrives.
