"The driveway looks great! They completed the job in a day due to the size of my driveway. The workers were very informative. The price was reasonable. I would recommend them to those looking to pave their driveway."

"Perez Paving did a great job paving my driveway. I had an existing 29 year old driveway that had gone to ****. Efrain Perez and his crew took out the old driveway. In addition, I wanted it expanding by approximately 35%. They came in, put the extra process down and laid it all flat while considering the pitch to make sure that no water pooled up anywhere on the driveway. I found 3 other top rated Angie's list businesses but Perez Paving was much less expensive."

The estimator arrived at our home at 8:00 AM on a Saturday morning, as had been previously scheduled.   He examined the project, made thorough measurements, and followed-up with a comprehensive, written estimate and schedule for the project.  He mentioned the various stages of the project:

First Visit

(1) Removal and disposal of the old surface.

(2) Removal of approximately 270 feet of Belgian block curbing and preparation of the curbing area for the reinstallation of the Belgian block in a new cement base.  This was done ever so carefully so as not to damage the Belgian block during its removal.

(3) Repair of the driveway subsurface drainage (which had been poorly done when the home was built).

(4) Preparation of the driveway gravel subsurface.

Second Visit  (Three weeks later ... arriving on the day and time scheduled at the start of the project).

(1) All Belgian block curbing was carefully aligned and reinstalled ... in a proper cement base for long-term stability.

(2) This was done with minimal invasion of the lawn area behind the Belgian block, and without any damage to the many plantings running the length of the Belgian block curbing .

Third (and final visit ... two weeks after installation of the Belgian block).

(1) Again the crew arrived on time (on the day and time scheduled at the start of the project).

(2) They resurfaced the entire driveway with asphalt  ... leaving the work area pristine with temporary barriers to prevent anyone from inadvertently driving on the surface while it dried and cured over the next  several days.

During the entire project (from the original call for an estimate, to the final steps) the management, office staff and crews were professional, polite, competent, and always on-time ... doing what they said they would do when they promised.

If we ever have need for a similar project, I would not even bother to get competitive bids.  I would simply call SILVERIO and trust them with the job.  Their work, communication and customer service were impeccable.

"An awesome experience from requesting a quote thru the finished driveway seal. Dustin showed up when he said he would to give me the quote which was very competitive and he showed up when he said he would to do the job. Both he and his helper are very personable. They went above and beyond to make my 1955 era driveway look wonderful. I would hire them again and recommend them highly!"

"They were honest. The project will be to costly as the whole driveway needs replacing and I agree. I was hoping for a fix but that’s not an option"

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Professionals in Monroe determine asphalt paving boundaries by consulting property surveys to comply with local setback requirements. They also use physical markers like existing curbing, retaining walls, and natural drainage patterns. For driveways connecting to public roads, contractors must coordinate with Monroe Public Works for approval, ensuring the project integrates properly with town infrastructure and watershed considerations.

Helpful?

An asphalt paving project in Monroe can impact other systems. It may alter grading, affecting foundation drainage, French drains, or catch basins. Be aware of underground utilities, especially the prevalent septic and well systems in the area. Warning signs of an issue include new basement moisture, settling around utility connections, or changes in how surface water flows across your property.

Helpful?

A small residential asphalt paving project in Monroe typically takes one to two days, while larger jobs with prep work can last three to four days. The ideal season is May through September, but Connecticut's unpredictable weather can cause delays. Timelines are also affected by permit requirements from the Monroe Building Department and potential utility marking holdups common in the area.

Helpful?

In Monroe, CT, the areas most vulnerable to needing asphalt paving work are main driveway approaches, which endure heavy traffic and snow plow damage. Steep sections are also a high priority due to water runoff issues common on Monroe's hilly terrain. Other problem spots include turnaround areas experiencing high stress and sections under mature trees where roots can cause significant damage.

Helpful?

In Monroe, CT, new asphalt requires sealcoating every 2-3 years. After five years, freeze-thaw cycles cause small cracks to appear. By year 10, annual crack sealing and patching for potholes become necessary due to harsh winters. After 15-20 years, a full replacement is often required from the cumulative effects of nor'easters, local soil movement, and root damage common in the area.
