"Good product, great communication all through the process.  The installer was prompt and courteous, and left the site clean. Just a great professional interaction from beginning to end, including a follow up customer satisfaction call.

"Fantastic! Our central AC went out and our HVAC system was over 20 years old so we decided to replace both. K&C provided 4 different estimates that were very detailed and easy to understand. We had 3 other local companies provide estimates and K&C were the lowest for a very efficient set up. They came out within a few days and were professional, friendly, and did an amazing job of cleaning up. They showed us how to use the new thermostat and how to use the app to set it up. They had exceptional communication and even reached out a week after the job to be sure everything was working. Highly recommend, we will absolutely hire them again!"

"I am very pleased with D&D Construction Services. Derrick was our service tech, and he was so on time, polite, efficient and informative about every step of the process. Getting your air ducts cleaned is a big deal, and they offered a more than fair price. I highly recommend."

"I just have to say thank you to Clark's mechanical and Corey for the amazing job on my split mini heat/air. Our technician Cory was reliable and expert in his HVAC trade. He had a solution that didn't break the bank literally in five minutes. I'm mean honestly I called about a dozen places just asking them to take a. Look. They all wanted hundreds to merely dispatch a tech. Clarks Mechanical was Jonny on the spot. Just a few hours later we had heat and air conditioning at a reasonable price. So yes I wholeheartedly recommend Clarks mechanical every day and twice on Sunday"

"went above and beyond in explaining every question I had. even gave advice on how to even out the temperature in my home. The quote was fairly priced. They do the work themselves instead of quoting a price and then contracting the job out to someone else, like a lot of other companies do. I had 4 quotes in total to have a whole home humidifier installed. I was most impressed with Robbins because of the attention to detail, patience explaining things, and very fair pricing."

"Questioning the value of the membership I purchased. The hvac tech tried to sell us expensive unneeded services and didn?t provide any photos or written reports of the inspection. The plumbing tech did provide a written report of the inspection and also made suggestions for pricey upgrades. It?s hard to tell what?s necessary and what isn?t with this company. Techs have all been professional and punctual."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

To lower humidity quickly, run a dehumidifier or your home's air conditioner or turn on exhaust fans to extract moisture. These methods can quickly and effectively bring your home's humidity levels to a comfortable condition. However, you should consistently practice humidity-reducing tasks to maintain proper indoor humidity levels.

Window ACs use 500 to 1,400 watts per hour of electricity, while mini-splits use 500 to 700 watts per hour. However, if you need to cool multiple zones in your house, your mini-split can use as much as 2,000 watts per hour. How often you run your system will impact how much electricity you use (and how much you pay per month).

It depends on how fast an HVAC technician can resolve the issue. First, if there's a refrigerant leak, you’ll want to keep small children and pets out of the house. Next, you’ll want to turn off the AC unit to ensure no more freon enters your home. Finally, you’ll need an AC technician pro to come to your home and fix the leak immediately. Ultimately, it’s best to leave your home if you discover a freon leak—the risk of exposure is very high, and it’s not worth risking your health to stay.

It depends on the type of AC unit and the extent of the mold growth. For example, if you have a small amount of mold in your central air conditioner, it’s worth cleaning it to protect your HVAC system and your health. In situations like these, you can often remove the mold yourself in a couple of hours. On the other hand, if you have a portable AC unit with a severe mold problem, it makes more sense to buy a new one. On average, replacing a portable AC unit costs $100 to $500.

During the summer, it’s best to set your AC to 78 degrees when you’re home and awake, according to the Department of Energy (DOE). For better energy efficiency, raise the temperature slightly to 85 degrees while you’re out of the house. The National Sleep Foundation advises lowering your thermostat to between 60 and 67 degrees when you’re asleep.
