"Absolutely fantastic Emergency Locksmith Service from American Locksmith LLC! I accidentally left my keys in the ignition, and the locksmith arrived faster than I could finish my coffee. Quick, efficient, and friendly service. I hope I don't lock myself out again, but if I do, American Locksmith LLC is my go-to."

I have been learning my trade since 1958. I don't think there is one aspect of locks, safes (both mechanical & electronic), & building security that I haven't encountered in that time. I guarantee all of my labor for a period equal to manufacturers up to one year. My son was also raised in the trade. Please give us a chance to serve you when you next need.

From myself and anyone that I hire you can expect the utmost in professionalism and knowledge of the locksmith trade. \nMy motto is Bringing Integrity to the Trade.\nUnfortunately, the world of locksmithing does not have much integrity to go around, so my business is founded upon integrity as a concept. My customers will receive complete honesty, reasonable prices stated up-front, and quality work and craftsmanship. I love being a locksmith and my goal is to be a tradesman, not a businessman.

Locksmiths questions, answered by experts

Yes, you should always change your locks after buying a house. Do so as soon as possible after you move in. Otherwise, you won’t know who has working keys to the property, whether they’re spare keys or otherwise. If an intruder gains access to your house with a key, it may not be covered under your homeowners insurance.

When the temps drop, sometimes you need to thaw a lock to regain access. Options include warming the key with warm water, applying a de-icing spray, or using a hair dryer on low heat. Avoid using boiling water to prevent damage. To prevent future freezing, consider installing a cover or shield over the lock to keep water and ice out. Remember to be patient and gentle during thawing to avoid damaging the lock or key. If all else fails, consult a professional locksmith.

Keyless locks are great for convenience, letting you unlock doors with a code or your phone so you don't need to carry keys around. They also often come with helpful features like temporary codes for guests. On the downside, they can be more costly up front and do require batteries that will eventually need replacing. If you value ease of use and additional security features, keyless locks are worth the investment.

Rekeying your own locks is a low-cost task that prevents you from having to replace the locks themselves completely. The first couple of times you rekey a lock may be challenging because this is an intermediate DIY task. You can purchase a rekey kit from most hardware stores, but make sure you’re buying the kit from the brand of lock in your home that you’re going to rekey.

Yes, but adding a deadbolt to some door materials, like steel, may make installation a little bit trickier. For these materials, you will want to hire a locksmith to do the work for you, but be aware that they may charge an additional fee of $25 to $50 or more.
