"I had a great experience from start to finish with this company. They were able to install my new AC unit quickly, which I was thankful for, considering how hot it has been. Throughout the entire process, they were transparent with their pricing, explained everything clearly, and never made me feel pressured. Dylan and Tristan were incredibly knowledgeable, professional, respectful, and kind. They took the time to answer all of my questions and made sure I understood what was being installed and why. I was honestly pretty stressed about having to replace my AC unit, but they made the entire experience easy and worry-free. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone looking for honest, reliable HVAC service. Their customer service and quality of work exceeded my expectations, and I couldn't be happier with the experience."

"My dad is elderly and needed a new HVAC system. So I decided to find a person who could install a new HVAC system and we found Cody. Cody was very friendly, honest, and communicated very well. At one point he told us we could probably go another 3-5 years with the current system, but since my dad only has so many years left we told he to go ahead and install a whole new system in. He treated us like gold and even spent the time showing my Dad all the new features with the thermostat. I would highly recommend Cody for any repairs or HVAC needs you have."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

While you’ll pay more upfront for a brand-new HVAC unit, you can save money in the long run. Here’s how to save on your new HVAC system:

  • When purchasing a high-efficiency system, your energy bills will be lower in the future.

  • You may be eligible for special offers from your local energy company.

  • Depending on the system, you may be eligible for HVAC rebates and tax credits.

  • Choose to replace your air conditioning unit and furnace simultaneously to save on labor and installation costs.

It’s critical to use the right size AC for your space and not go too small or too big. If you purchase an undersized unit, it won’t properly cool your house, and it has to work harder to reach the optimal temperature. This will eventually wear your unit out. An oversized unit can spell trouble because it will turn off and on more frequently, which also wears out your AC unit. An oversized unit also causes humidity in the home.

The DOE is phasing out AC units with SEER ratings that fall below 14 or 15. The exact minimum rating depends on your region. In the northern United States, new ACs must have a minimum SEER rating of 14, though you can still buy and install older systems as long as they were compliant when they were manufactured. In the southern and southwestern United States, you cannot buy or install older air conditioners with lower SEER ratings. The minimum rating is between 14.5 and 15, depending on the power of the unit.

No. HVAC, which stands for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, includes all of the systems that work together to regulate a building’s temperature and humidity levels. In comparison, air conditioners only provide cooling. You can have an air conditioner as part of your HVAC system, but not all HVAC systems include air conditioners.

Most AC repair technicians will take between two and six hours to carry out repairs, depending on the work needed and the accessibility of the unit. For example, recharging refrigerant lines should take one to two hours to service, while replacing a compressor, blower fan, or other major components can take five to eight hours. You can ask your AC repair technician how long they expect the job to take, but just in case, you should plan on being home and available for most of the day.
