"They were a great company to work with- efficient, cleaned up after the installation, did extras, such as installed carbon monoxide alarms. They were polite, explained things well and were able to install the furnace the next day after coming out to an after hours emergency call of a dead furnace in 20 degree weather. They were very professional."

"These folks were very professional, came out quickly, were the first one of the companies to call me back. It was an older furnace but they were able to find the parts and get it going again. I would recommend for any HVAC mechanical needs."

"My experience with Clean Air Genie was great. They were professional and knowledgeable explaining everything to me clearly and provided pictures and videos before and after the work was done. My air ducts were pretty bad (hadn’t been cleaned in 10 years) and they were able to get them very clean and sanitized. I appreciate that their prices were transparent and fair for the work. I will definitely recommend!"

"Tech -Mike- after checking out the furnace is straight up and explained that he is not familiar with the modular furnaces. He did recommend a company that works on my type of home. Mike kept me informed on his arrival and very courteous.

"They were so quick to respond and SO quick to come out and clean my dryer vents! They were professional and reasonably priced too. And WHOA! I cannot believe the lint that came out of my home. I wish I had taken a picture! My home is only 3 years old, but now Iâ m convinced this is needed once a year."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I highly recommend K & C Heating Plumbing and Cooling! They recently installed my new furnace and AC, and the entire process was smooth and professional. Their customer service is excellent—friendly, responsive, and focused on making sure I was comfortable with every step. The installation itself was top-notch; the team worked efficiently, explained the system thoroughly, and left everything clean and tidy. On top of that, their price beat every other estimate I received, giving me great value without sacrificing quality. I’m extremely satisfied and will absolutely turn to K & C for any future heating and cooling fixes or installation."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

HVAC companies may charge an hourly rate or a flat fee. Hourly rates typically range from $100 to $250 per hour, with an average around $175. Some contractors charge a flat fee for specific services, such as an inspection, which can cost between $150 and $500. The total cost of an HVAC service is influenced by several factors, including: the urgency of the service (emergency repairs after hours or on holidays cost more), the time of year, the type, size, and brand of your HVAC system, the specific repair needed, and whether you have a service contract.

Capacitors are the most frequent part of an HVAC system to experience failure. These components are crucial for starting the motors that power the fans and compressor, but over time, they may become worn or fail due to electrical surges or regular wear and tear. When capacitors malfunction, HVAC systems may experience decreased heating or cooling efficiency, or even total system failure. Replacement or maintenance of capacitors is a common requirement for the optimal functioning of HVAC systems.

The time it takes for an air conditioner to dry fully after cleaning depends on the unit's size and humidity levels. Most units will dry within two to four hours after cleaning, but check the manufacturer's recommendations for drying times. Make sure to leave the unit off until it's completely dry.

The best way to reduce heat upstairs is to release it by opening a window. Hot air rises, and if you can create some airflow by opening a window upstairs and also one on a lower level, the hot air should be pushed out of the home. Remember that fans pointing out the window do a much better job of circulating air than fans pointing into the home.

Yes, it’s normal for an AC to drip water. In fact, it’s part of the dehumidifying process that takes place inside your AC unit as the condensation trickles down into the drain pan. However, it isn’t normal for your AC to sound like it’s running water or have large puddles around it. If that happens, you can try the solutions listed above or call an AC repair pro.
