"Joe cleared the sink drain and turned the water off because I needed a new faucet. The old one was leaking and it was an expensive faucet so the repair would be expensive. I needed a new faucet because that one was corroded. He also checked the toilet to see if the water flow was o.k. and it was. Next I went out to Home Depot and purchased another wide spread faucet. Called Joe and he came out to install it. He is very courteous and efficient. He answered all of my questions. I would definitely hire Phill's Plumbing again."

"John the Plumber for Degennaro, was courteous and efficient. He was able to perform the job on the same day as the bid/estimate. He installed our toilets and left a very clean worksite. I would hire Degennaro again, if I have another plumbing project."

"It went well. They did a complete review of our plumbing to check for any problems we were unaware of. They came out within an hour after we purchased the Deal. They were great and did everything we asked of them."

"I purchased a water heater from Do It Right Plumbers . The tech, Chris, was on time and very thorough The installation went as smooth as could be. When the work was finished, you wouldn't have known any work had been done. It was that clean. Not only would I recommend them, but I also plan to use them in the future for my plumbing needs."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Start your plumbing project by identifying if your work requires municipal permits, as processing times add days or weeks to your timeline. Coordinate main line shutoffs with your local water provider in advance. For underground work, account for Westminster's shifting clay soils. Finally, schedule outdoor trenching during the drier months from May through October to avoid seasonal rain complications.

Helpful?

Unpermitted work or missing municipal inspections are strong indicators of non-compliant plumbing. Look for white or yellowish mineral scale around joints, which shows previous installations ignored local hard water issues. In older Westminster homes, missing dual seismic straps on water heaters or absent seismic gas shutoff valves highlight severe code violations. Recurring slab leaks also indicate failed underground repairs.

Helpful?

Minor plumbing repairs take one day or less. A water heater replacement takes one day of labor, plus one to three days for permit processing. A whole-house repiping project requires two to five days of labor, though older Westminster homes with galvanized pipes extend this timeline. Sewer line replacements take three to seven days. High-demand seasons extend contractor availability.

Helpful?

When hiring professionals for plumbing, verify they hold an active state license, workers' compensation, and general liability insurance. Choose a local contractor familiar with the specific municipal permit process and regional water efficiency mandates in California. Your pro must also understand how to manage the high mineral content in the local water supply to prevent scale buildup.

Helpful?

Before starting plumbing work, verify all permit requirements with municipal authorities to avoid fines and mandatory removals. Contact the state digline two business days before excavating to avoid hitting dense utility lines. You must also inspect existing pipes for corrosion and hard water scale buildup. Finally, ensure all new fixtures meet current California water efficiency standards before purchasing them.
