"Robert Duran and his crew from 3-D Tree Services, Inc. were top notch today from the quote/survey to completion! I am amazed how quick, efficient, professional and kind this entire team is to work with! This was a tough job (Old/Invasive Pepper Tree). The crew was in sync with each other, allowing the process to be quick and safe. I’m so happy I found them through Home Advisor and the response to my inquiry was quick. Thank you everyone! Referrals will flow!"

"J Lopez Tree Service did a good job trimming our trees. They did the work in the time frame that they promised and they cleaned up after themselves when they were done."

"The crew showed up a hour late from appointment. I greeted them at the front yard and noticed the climbers we wearing spikes to climb the trees. I told them I'd have to cancel the job if they were going to use spikes to climb up the trees. I conveyed this to the foreman 3 times. I did not want spike holes scarring up the trunks of the queen palms. We had to leave the crew as we were late for a appointment. I felt a little apprehensive leaving, but this company had good reviews from Angie's List. When we came home the queen palms looked nicely trimmed and the clean up was good. The queen palms had spike marks after the 10 ft ladder mark. I could not believe they disregarded my instructions on using spikes to climb up the trees. I played phone tag with Bob for a few days and he finally talked to his foreman of 27 years and said there must of been a miscommunication on my instructions. I communicated very direct and enforced my wish that no spikes could be used while trimming the trees. My mistake is that I left a professional tree trimming crew unsupervised."

"We hired Ernie Ureno Tree Service to trim and cut down large trees on our property. Rather than using bucket truck and mulch chipper which probably would've sped up the job, they used tree climbers and a storage bin for the debris. Their work was slower than we'd anticipated. But when finished, the quality was good, and they were responsive to our requests every step of the way."

"Updating my previous review. The root ball was finally removed this past Friday. I wish it would have been done sooner, but at least it was removed.. The tree removal service was quick and done safely which I appreciated. The communication at the end was not great but the job did get done."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

The lifespan of a bird's nest depends on the species. The building process can take from two days to three weeks. Once built, the nesting period for baby birds can last from two to ten weeks before they leave the nest. While most young birds are ready in two to six weeks, some predatory species may need up to two and a half months. Some species nest four to five times per year, so a nest could remain in use for several months. For specific information about a particular nest's longevity, it is best to consult a wildlife professional.

Lightning can cause massive damage, fires, and openings for other threats like bugs or fungal diseases. Barring any large fires or explosions, it’s difficult to tell how much damage a lightning strike has done until after a thorough inspection. Contact local authorities immediately if lightning strikes a tree in your yard and it causes a fire or explosion.

The best time to cut down a tree is during its dormant season, typically in winter or early spring, after all the leaves have fallen. Removing a tree during this period is advantageous for several reasons. Frozen ground helps secure the tree stump, protects the surrounding landscape from damage, and reduces the risk of the tree falling in an unintended direction. With the leaves gone, there is less risk of the tree's foliage getting tangled with other trees. Additionally, since this is often a slower season for tree services, you may be able to hire a professional at a lower rate. This dormant period is also the best time for tree trimming.

Trimming a tree can take anywhere from just two hours to a full day, depending on the age of the tree, the number of trees, and the species. Young trees are generally easier to trim, as their branches are often thinner in diameter and easier to reach compared to mature trees. They also tend to be healthier. If you haven’t trimmed your trees before or it’s been a while, the process could take even longer.

Though summer is not ideal, you can do some light pruning during this time of year. Just make sure it’s not excessive. Vigorous pruning will stress the tree and impact next year’s growth. Generally, August to September are the best summer-pruning months, particularly for fruit trees.
