"They were great.  The job got done quickly and the installation was very high quality.  The work area was clean afterward and they took away my old heater at no extra charge.  They even installed a new wood base for the water heater to sit on because the old one had water damage from the old leaky heater.  
The only issue I had was that I had no way to double-check their price for the job.  Given the leaky heater, it had to be taken care of same day, so I didn't get multiple bids.  The price seemed a little high, but I have no reason to think I didn't get a good value.  They installed a Bradford White unit, which I understand to be a good one.

"Our water heater gave out and we began the process of getting quotes from plumbers to get it replaced. after almost a week of frustration trying to contact plumbers recommended to us and advertised as 4 or better stars on Yelp, etc., We joined Angie?s list and called Better Water Heaters as one of the companies to get a quote from.
The owner, Frans, carefully ascertained over the phone our situation and asked questions about our existing water heater installation. He gave over the phone assurance of this base price and a probable total cost. They sent out a plumber to do the actual estimate and he arrived in the time window given to us. 
The price was within what we could afford and they could install next day. Since we had been without hot water for almost a week we hired this company and are pleased with the result. Johnny, who was our plumber for the job, was efficient and careful to install the water heater up to code and reused the existing strapping material etc. so the cost was reasonable.
