"I contacted California Drains because my parent's home was completely backed up to the point where dirty water was coming out from the drains inside and outside their home. They promptly answered and booked me in the same day. They were able to contain the water from continuing to come out of the drains overnight and returned the next day first thing in the morning to get the problem fixed. Price was very reasonable, and the workers were very professional. Left everything clean and drains were completely cleared. It has been months since they came and there has not been an issue since. 10/10 will highly recommend to family and friends."

"Can you say you have a favorite plumber? I can. Had these great guys out recently to service the tankless water heater, who also recommended a filter to reduce the necessary descaling intervals (and subsequent expensive filter replacements). Also have had them out to clear sewer and drain lines, both at home and at a church we attended. Always fast, on-time, efficient, and clean. Have recommended to people I care about that are in need of trustworthy experts. No BS, just professionals that know their trade."

French Drains questions, answered by experts

It can take anywhere from half an hour to a few hours to fix a main line clog, depending on the cause and severity of it. The job should not take more than a day to complete. Keep in mind that the main line is not the same as your home’s sewer lines (which connect to the main line and run to your house). Your city is responsible for any clogs or damage to the main line itself.

Professionals use snakes, hydrojetting, or chemical cleaners to clear blockages effectively without damaging pipes.

You can drain a hot tub very quickly by using a submersible pump rather than the hose-sized drain at the bottom exterior of the tub. A pump can move up to 30 gallons per minute, draining your hot tub in no time. Using the regular drain can take up to two hours.

You can unclog an AC drain line for free if you already have these household ingredients: water, vinegar, and rags. Alternatively, if you’d rather not deal with the mess, you can hire a pro to clear your drain line. If you go that route, an HVAC service call costs between $100 and $250.

Vinegar is better for an AC drain line because it’s less corrosive and won’t damage the pipes. It’s also a safer and easier product to use. Bleach should not be used on your AC drain line because it can corrode your pipes and harm the evaporator coil in your air conditioner.
