"He was on time--always a good sign! I had the windows done years ago, and that job was OK. James said he treated his work as an art, which turned out to be completely accurate. It's a bit strange to be saying all this about window tinting, but it's not an exaggeration. James' work was Excellent."

"Brothers replaced every window in entire house around 6 years ago,. Excellent work! Recent (unusual) torrental rains resulted in leak in large picture window…they immediately inspected and sent a team to repair and also checked every window in the house to ensure they were okay. "Luis followed up on our quote promptly and helped us refine our estimate before we agreed on the job. Then Luis & Laura arrived on time and did a great job cleaning our very dusty windows and screens both inside and out. We felt that they treated both us and our home with courtesy and respect. We wondered how clean our 2nd story windows would be since they were using a pole rather than ladder to reach them. That turned out to be no problem. As we look through our sparkling windows today, we didnâ t realize how gross they were yesterday before Luis and Laura started their work! We will definitely have them come back again. Thank you, Luis & Laura!"

Windows questions, answered by experts

Because bay windows are a combination of three windows, there are many options for how wide or tall they can be. That said, individual windows come in standard sizes, and you can use those as a guide for the width and height of your bay window.

Yes, it is generally better and more cost-effective to replace all your windows at once. Contractors often lower the per-window labor and material costs for larger projects, saving you money in the long run. Installers may also quote a flat rate for overhead, making multiple small jobs more expensive than one large one.

Replacing all windows simultaneously offers other advantages:

  • Aesthetics and Home Value: It creates a cohesive style and uniform energy efficiency, which is appealing to potential home buyers.

  • Efficiency: The entire replacement process, which can take several weeks, is completed in a single, more efficient project.

However, replacing all windows requires a significant upfront investment. While you can replace just a few windows, experts recommend replacing at least five to eight at a time to avoid high overhead costs. An exception is when a single window is damaged; in that case, it can be replaced on its own.

If you don't have hurricane shutters or impact-resistant windows, boarding up windows before a hurricane is worth it. According to the Federal Alliance for Safe Homes, protection is essential for all your home's entry points, including windows, doors, skylights, and garage doors.

When windows break, wind enters your home, creating enough pressure that could cause the weakest part of your to rupture. Often, the weakest part is the roof, which can "pop" off of a home in a hurricane. The simple act of boarding up your windows can protect the structural integrity of your house.

The key difference between a hung window and an awning window is that hung windows (including single-hung and double-hung versions) slide vertically to open and close. In contrast, awning windows have a hinge at the top and open outward at an angle. You can use both types of windows throughout your home, but awning windows are best suited for kitchens and bathrooms.

One of the best professional cleaning solutions that won’t leave streaks is one gallon of distilled or bottled water mixed with 2 to 4 teaspoons of dish soap. Apply using a sponge in a figure-eight motion, and then use a squeegee to remove the majority of the water and soap. You can finish drying with a piece of old black-and-white newspaper to remove any residue for a streak-free clean every time.
