"We are very grateful that we hired Leoni Painting. Our old house had cracked siding in several areas and Anthony worked with our budget to repair what he could and replace what was too damaged. This included locating a vendor that still had access to the out-dated sized siding. He inspected the siding delivered and sent back what was not of good quality. He also worked with our schedule, because we were going out of town. He has also been very willing to do some touch up work. He also provided us with options in selecting the stain for the house and decks. Highly recommend."

"I can't think of enough good things to say about Omar Alvarado and his company, Green Oak Painting. He and his helper Ricardo did an excellent job on my house painting project made challenging by the extensive prep work required which included extensive scraping and sanding and replacing or restoring some siding, rafter tails and other wood affected by dry rot. They were on time, even early, for all appointments and scheduled work, and Omar kept me informed at every step about what was needed, what he recommended, what it would cost, and to ask me what I wanted because it meant a lot to him that I would be happy with the results. They were thorough but efficient, caulked every nook and cranny, and applied several coats of primer and the finish coat. There are a couple of doors in such bad shape they need to be replaced, which will take a few weeks, and Omar's fee includes returning when they arrive to help me hang them and paint them, and I know he will because he earned my complete trust. He honored the estimate despite all the prep work required. But he is also a competent business owner. Omar is one of the nicest, most honest, and most conscientious people I have ever met and I just wish he did more than painting. He told me he chose to specialize in painting so that he could excel at it, and he does."

"Needed my deck sealed after a year of curing. Quote was high, but I decided it was worth it. Lots of positive reviews. Had some water marks from pots on the deck. After the first brightening there were still watermarks. I sent Bruce pictures and asked that the guys coming to seal make sure the watermarks were taken care of. He told me to point out the spots and they would take care of it. When the sealers came, I pointed out the marks and asked that they make sure they were taken care of before the sealing. They told me that the water marks were the result of leaving pots on the deck...duh. Obviously this is what happened, but was why I was paying Cal Preserving to take care of it. I don't appreciate having to convince my contractors I want something done the right way. I ended up calling Bruce and explaining that I felt like this was being done in a rush, but he assured me his team was professional and that it would get done properly. Placated, I decided to trust it would be OK, despite the static. That was my first mistake. After they were done sealing they asked for the check (before it had a chance to dry and for me to inspect the work). I told Bruce I didn't feel comfortable with this (over the phone), but he reassured me that they weren't that kind of company and any mistakes or issues would be taken care of. I gave the sealers the check. Mistake number 2. The next day I inspected the work to find huge sections of the hand rail completely unsealed and with power-washer damage. Also the water marks were still there and now sealed in. I took pictures and sent them to Bruce. He came out and we discussed the issues. He was nice and told me not to worry and that his guys would take care of it. Another iteration and the handrail was fixed, but the watermarks are still there. At this point I feel like I didn't get the full value of what I paid, and the hassle I went through to get to where I am now, which is barely passable should be avoided by others so I am writing this review. I don't mind paying premium prices, but when I do, I expect premium work. And if I find something wrong with the work, I expect it to be fixed without contention. The fact is I feel like the job was rushed, and I was pressured into paying early. I am a relatively new homeowner and this whole experience has just been a lesson learned. If the watermarks were taken care of, and the rail done right the first time, and nobody gave me static, I would be rating Cal Preserving with five stars. Take warning!"

Old world craftsmanship with restoration on all wood and stucco surfaces, windows and interior plaster work. Hteat attention to detail. Ongoing communication during all work was very good."

"I highly recommend hiring Adrian Kovaci and his crew at Ceres Construction for your home construction project.The quality of their work was superb, the cost was comparible to the three other quotes I got from other companies, and their work presence at my home was unobtrusive as I could hope for. My two level 1923-built Richmond district home in San Francisco had a derelict passage to my garage - crumbling door, wobbly side stairs, and dry-rotted siding. Nothing was up to code. Adrian noted all the items that had to be reconstructed and said the project would take up to 20 days (it actually was finished in 18 days.) Adrian was very accommodating in giving extra finishing touches to my door hallway without extra charges, which I appreciated. I was concerned about the cost of the project and the disruption the work would cause, but Adrian's calm demeanor and the friendliness of the crew put my worries to rest. All cracks were repaired and sealed, wood trim sanded, grills replaced, window edges sealed. Two coats of prime, two coats of high quality paint which Alex advised on. Painting was smooth, polished, deep and precise. Final walk through matched proposal and any other agreed along the way adjustments. Alex is trustworthy, friendly, honest, fair and has a can-do attitude. He adhered to the timeline and always kept us informed of progress or issues that needed to be addressed. He was patient, flexible, and made sure all of our concerns were addressed. The patient crew was terrific--- on time, hard working, polite, respectful, and of good cheer. They did their jobs well, took pride in their work, cleaned up respected the property every day. Overall, the house looks fantastic--- fresh, energized, extremely well appointed, and more valuable!"
