"I reviewed several HVAC companies on Angies List and based on the number of reviews and content of the reviews I selected Brower Mechanical. The technicians arrived within the time window provided by the service dept. They called 15 minutes prior to arrival. I received a friendly greeting and handshake by both techs. They listened patiently while I provided a brief history of the unit, age and previous troubles/problems. They seemed appreciative of the information and went about their business. After completing the unit inspection and service they inspected the ducts and found four that, in their opinion, need replacing. I have been in the attic before and their inspection confirmed what I had seen earlier. We discussed a recurring problem I have had with the inducer vacuum nipple becoming plugged. The technician made some suggestions that could be implemented when and if I decide to replace a noisy inducer motor.
At this time I have made an appointment to have the four ducts replaced. While making this appointment I mentioned how satisfied I was with the technician that performed the inspection/service and was asked if I would like to have this technician assigned for future service visits. I, of course jumped at the idea. I find this action very refreshing and a legitimate sign/trait of a company that is focused on complete customer satisfaction.

"We have been using Golden Aire for maintenance and repairs for the past 8 years. They are professional, knowledgeable and courteous, as well as fair in their pricing. Case in point, we had Daniel come out to do our summer A/C maintenance. Daniel discovered that coils were bad and leaking coolant. We received our quote for the parts and repair. The cost was estimated at $3k (ouch!) Parts were ordered and Daniel came out within a weeks' time. I can't state highly enough how impressed we were with Daniel's knowledge, professionalism and most importantly care. Daniel was able to save us $1,300 as he discovered that after fixing the Nitrogen leak and replacing the refrigerant there was no need to replace the coils. I know other less scrupulous companies would have milked us for a higher invoice price especially since the coils were ordered. "The two guys showed up right as promised, inspected the HVAC in the attic and then took a look at the 3 rooms in question. Very friendly and polite guys, wore booties to protect carpets . They were quite responsive and willing to answer questions and explain their findings. They determined that the system was working fine but that the vents in the room were set such that you couldn't feel any airflow because it was directed across the ceiling. They adjusted the flow vanes to give a more direct down flow and explained that the temperature difficulties of the room couldn't really be solved , given their locations( outside walls, over poorly insulated garage and at the end of the HVAC) absent perhaps a new 2nd system, which wasn't discussed further as that would have been too expensive."

"For the most part we are satisfied with the purchase. There were some hiccups with the installation that kept us from being completely satisfied. If there was better communication with the install process it would be helpful. HVAC is a large purchase with little to show for it because its in the basement or attic so the better informed you are will make it more comfortable. Otherwise we got the feeling they can just hide any of the problems they encountered because the customer wont see it anyway."
