"It went pretty good until it came time for my first year of routine maintenance/inspection. I was told the first year would be included in the 16K contract price, but apparently, that was an empty promise. I am deeply disappointed. I had hoped to keep Brower Mechanical on as my "go to" HVAC company. As a matter of principle this simply isn't an option. My advice, make sure you get all promises in writing. Handshakes and spoken words are useless here."

"Jorge, Angel, Ishmael, and George were fantastic. Jorge was honest and straight in the initial conversations. He gave me multiple options for systems and their functionality. When I made my selection I was given a very fair price for the work that was to be done. He was very helpful in acquiring good financing that bested my Credit Union and Bank. The work was done quickly with great attention to the fine details. I now have an efficient and functional HVAC unit. If you need repairs or a replacement HVAC system you could not do better than selecting Elite Heating and Air for your job. I'm telling all my friends that if they need any work done - "I've got a guy"..."

"Andriy helped explain the steps needed to do the assessment on my HVAC issue. He was upfront with services and engaged me the whole time while performing his tasks. He resolved the issue that another company did not. I would hire him in a heart beat for the next project."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

You might notice that your air conditioner isn’t running as effectively as it once did. Specifically, your AC unit could take longer to cool your home, or it might struggle to remove humidity from the air. Higher utility bills and hissing sounds coming out of your AC could also indicate a leak.

A blocked return air vent can cause your HVAC system to work much harder and, therefore, less efficiently. The result is higher utility bills and poorer air quality. A blocked return air vent can also cause unpleasant dust, dander, and odors to linger in your home’s air.

Yes, a mini split AC system can replace central air—and quite easily, too. Since mini splits don’t require ductwork, homeowners can convert their central air system to a mini split to save money and energy. Consult with an HVAC professional to learn more about the process of replacing your central air with a mini split.

You need to know the square footage of your home first. Multiply that number by 20, which will get you the BTUs (British Thermal Units) needed to cool your home efficiently. Homes up to 1,000 square feet usually need a 1.5-ton unit; homes 1,000 to 1,200 square feet usually need a 1.75-ton unit, and homes 1,200 to 1,400 square feet usually need a 1.9-ton unit. Talk to a local pro for more specific advice on your home.

When first installed, flex ducts shouldn’t cause airflow problems in your home. However, because flex ducts aren’t the sturdiest and require extra support, they lose their durability over time and begin to sag, which can inhibit airflow down the road. Also, if your flex ducts aren’t tight enough, your HVAC could work twice as hard for the same air pressure. If you’re worried about the airflow in your home, a rigid duct may be your best bet.
