"During an insurance inspection we were told our roof needed attention before the policy renewal. Sean with Imperia Roofing & Exteriors came out to look at it and confirmed a few areas that needed repair. They handled the work quickly and gave us the documentation we needed for the insurance company."

Small jobs welcome

"Attic Pros installed a sump pump under difficult conditions. Drained the crawl space and then installed the pump just before more heavy rains. Other companies wouldnà ¢à  à  t take the job until the crawl space was drained.. Attic Pros then sent someone the next day to finish the exterior plumbing, Very grateful for Attic Pros."

"Great experience getting windows installed by American Home Renewal. First contact was 6 months ago. I slept on it for a few months and got some other quotes. Chris was friendly as a sales man, Gave me a competitive price and some pointers on fiberglass vs vinyl. I went with Vinyl. Alex was the installer and was very detailed in explaining the install process. He explained everything in detail to me and showed me tips on how to do a proper install. We did a mix of new construction and retrofit. we added window casings and he was very thorough and asked multiple questions on how I wanted the casings to look. only hiccup was one of the windows was ordered wrong. we couldn't determine where the mixup occurred but they immediately took full ownership and reordered me a new window to the specs I wanted. I would highly recommend."

"Ahmad was the quickest to give me a quote, works with a BayREN inspector to get rebates, so I wound up selecting his company because after rebates it would be the cheapest. I had an install date for about 3 weeks away, returned from vacation a day early to move everything away from the walls by 3 ft on a Sunday for a Tuesday appointment. Got a call that Monday that his crew was out with COVID (totally understandable, since I myself and many coworkers had been out with COVID about that time). Rescheduled for 8 days later (2 of those days were because of my schedule). His crew arrived on time and were very friendly and helpful reexplaining the process (since it had been over a month since I got the quote). They were fast and efficient. Sadly, once they had a check in hand Ahmad was terrible about returning texts. I had three simple questions (rebate inspection, dry time for spackle, why a quarter of one wall didn't get insulated), took a day or more but he returned an answer to one of the questions, asked a clarifying question about one and ignored the other question. No response to my response to the clarifying question. When I was going through with the BayREN inspector I found that the installation crew completely annihilated a light fixture in the closet of the attic access. I didn't even bother to try to get a hold of them to get it replaced since I would waste more time getting no response than I would heading to a home improvement store to buy and install a replacement. Come to think about it I probably should only rate a 4 star because I'm worried about damage I haven't found yet, and also annoyed at how little of my exterior walls wound up with insulation, but I don't want to lose all this typing."

"Prompt service and good work. The drilled holes in the stucco and the patch work was excellent, can't easily see the patch, if at all in some cases. The only negative is that since they finished after dark, the cleanup wasn't as good as I would have liked."

"We needed retrofit wall insulation and after checking around all the listings through AngiesList, Yelp, and others, we found that only Bay Valley and SDI does retrofit wall insulation work. We went with Bay Valley because the price was reasonable and they responded quickly and promptly (can't say this about SDI*). Joel was our estimator and he came out promptly at the time and date indicated. He was thorough and thoughtful on how he approached the job, not overselling or recommending things we didn't need. We live in an older house and he appreciated the home and looked for the most non-invasive method to take care of our un-insulated exterior walls. Bay Valley's approach is to come in from the exterior walls with the typical 2-hole process (high/low) to blow in the cellulose insulation. They sent two guys in and despite a couple snags in the job, they finished the job in one full day. Afterwards, they plugged the holes, textured and primed, and the next day came in to paint (our-supplied) paint. I was really amazed how well and seamless it all looked afterwards. They did a good job cleaning and even moved the cabinets in the garage back where they originally were. The real result? The mornings have been a little bit warmer than last week, but so far the heater has barely turned on over the past couple days. The house already feels warmed and less temperature fluctuations. We already got brand-new attic insulation last Fall, but the wall insulation really did the trick. A definite recommend to anyone who needs a good team to do insulation in their home. * dealing with SDI was a nightmare, unfortunately. With *several* calls about being in the ER, then lots of other excuses, it just didn't seem like they wanted to do the job or something. I originally made the request in August and this morning on Nov 10, I got a phone call inquiring if we still needed insulation done. sigh."

Eifs Installers questions, answered by experts

Yes, egress windows are grandfathered. However, this comes with some specifications. If you are remodeling a basement or adding a sleeping area, you’ll need to update the egress windows to be up to proper code. But, if you’re leaving your home as is, you do not have to adhere to these requirements.

Costs depend on window size, type, material, and labor. Custom shapes or sizes typically incur higher expenses; full installation includes removing old windows.

The cost to install a bow window can range from $1,500 to $15,000, with a national average of $3,900. The total price includes materials, which can cost between $1,200 and over $14,000, and labor, which typically adds $300 to $1,900. Several factors influence the final cost, including the window's size and frame material. For example, vinyl frames are the most budget-friendly option, while wood frames are more expensive. Custom features or energy-efficient upgrades will also increase the price. For comparison, a bay window installation typically costs between $1,000 and $7,000.

When you need new windows depends on a variety of factors, including the age of your windows, the age of your home, and the climate you live in. If you’re dealing with budget constraints, you don’t need to replace all your windows simultaneously.

When buying new windows, you should consider energy efficiency, safety, and aesthetics to choose the right window for you.

The proper way to install a window well is to measure the window, dig a hole deeper and wider than the window, place a drainage tube and cap, anchor the well to the foundation, caulk the seam, and backfill the hole. The job requires tools such as a hammer drill and auger and some heavy digging. Proper placement and window well installation are critical to preventing water from leaking into the window.
