"We were super happy with excellent job installing custom mural tiles from Italy on my stucco house exterior! The Italian art tiles were very valuable & meant a lot to me - so I was relieved when Nando & Rob completed the 2 large tile murals perfectly! They were very professional, on time, & clean up was excellent! Nando & Rob very friendly & went extra mile to drive to get my hard to find grout color! I would hire again in a heartbeat! Thank you!"

Customers say: True professional

"I recently had my kitchen remodeled. I friend recommended Jason. I did not use my contractors tile guy. I had several ideas for my wall that had not been tiled before. Jason worked with me to recommend a good pattern and tile size for my space. I love the finished project. It looks so good and I get complements from my friends. He was just what I needed."

"Excellently!! John was able to come to the house to assess the project, timeline, and cost. He and his partner started right away due to a delay in another customer being able to get their product. Demo of current floor tile took a half-day. New floor tile was installed on day 2, and grout on day 3!! The cost was originally $100 higher than the previous estimate by another company. John compromised and gave a $50 discount, which I accepted. The two men worked as a team, were courteous, pleasant, friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, and I was very, very satisfied with the install results, time spent, and cleanup! I would call upon JB Tile and Stone, in Lemon Grove, in the future."

"Install went fast and easy except for one hiccup. Installer found a leak from my bathroom into the pantry so we had to halt install so I could repair and let the subfloor dry out. When ready, Aaron was back timely and finished the job. Aaron went above and beyond to make sure everything was right and I was happy."

"We had a large 120 so foot kitchen backsplash floor to ceiling around doors and windows tile job with a very delicate 1-inch diamond shaped penny tile. The tile contractors our general kitchen contractor hires walked off the job and said they couldnâ t work with this tile. Rayo tile saved the day! I got 4 bids that were all pretty close in price. They werenâ t the cheapest but they were the best. Constant communication. Showing up on time. Incredible work and we had a very difficult tile to work with. Cleaned their workspace. These guys are professionals like all contractors should be. Hire them."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

You can use sanded or unsanded grout for a shower pan, but sanded grout isn’t the best option for shower walls. For those areas, you’ll want to use unsanded grout, which works well on vertical surfaces and is less likely to slump than sanded grout. Alternatively, you can use epoxy grout for shower walls.

Ideally, you should remove tile before installing hardwood floors, but there are good reasons not to. Removing stubborn tile can be a labor-intensive job that adds days to the project. The subfloor beneath the tiles could also be damaged during the process, meaning you’d have to repair the subfloor before installing the new hardwood floor.

Technically, you can start tiling in a corner and work your way out. However, it's not traditionally how tiling is done. Instead, work from the bottom middle of the wall. Tile out the entire row with whole tiles before moving on to the next row. Once you finish installing all of the whole tiles, then you focus on tiling the corners.

Like any painted surface, tile paint can peel and chip over time. However, tile paint can become especially susceptible to peeling during periods of high humidity. Other sources of excess moisture will also cause tile paint to peel faster than normal. And if the tiles are in a high-traffic area, like the entryway floor, tile paint will chip and peel faster.

Penny tile should be sealed to protect the grout from moisture and keep stains from damaging the look of the tile. If penny tile is in a humid or high-traffic area, like a bathroom, kitchen, or entryway, it needs sealant. Any type of tile and grout is best maintained with a sealant reapplied by a pro every one to two years.
