- J & J LOCKSMITHTo the Reviewer from 2/17/2016, that was my dad who was on television "cracking" the safe. He opened J&J Locksmiths in 1956 with a friend of his "Jim," a year before I was born. When he sold "the shop" as we called it, he opened his own security system company that included safes. Their current website states they're family owned and operated for decades, but the current owners are not part of our family. They're a family on their own so I guess what they're advertising is true, but it is not OUR family who created and established J&J Locksmiths. - SHEcan2I tried many other handymen and could never find someone reliable who did good work. The $55 per hour felt a little high, but the work was quality, and my overall experience was great. I love that all the employees are women as well!
- SHEcan2The two main people I worked with on the project were Terri and Kim. They were both very professional and easy to work with from the begining. Listened to my ideas on what I wanted completed on the bathroom project, gave back some very good ideas to mine and worked with me to meet my needs. Both Terry and Kim were execllent communicators, easy to contact and very pleasent to work with. The project went a little longer than we all wanted but that was out of all our control and they really did a great job of doing their best to stay on track and on budget (they did stay on budget and then some!). I will do business with them again for many reasons, 1) Honest 2) Quality of their work 3) Execllent Communicators 4) Easy to do business with 5) Great ideas to share and 6) They were just plain nice people to work with

So I called their company and I said I had a job for them too (a locked file cabinet I needed opened) and asked them to PLEASE not have their guy leave before he came by and did my job, too. They got in touch with him, and while I was still putting a notice on his van to check with me before he left, in case he hadn't heard from his company yet, he was already upstairs trying to get in to do my job. SO excellent. Turned out he'd done a lock there the week before, of a much more complicated nature. He was able to fix the problem in record time, and ended up not even charging me. - Curb AppealHe turned up right on time as usual. He stopped at home depot and brought everything with him that he needed to fix it. I had a bad leak under the ground so he had to cut out an entire section and put a new one in. It took an hour and he charged me $50.

- Curb AppealSteve was the first provider who returned my call and he arranged to come by the next morning because of his schedule. He called that evening stating that he was going to be in my neighborhood and asked if it was okay to come by that night. He arrived around 7:30 PM. He disassembled the door handle, latching and deadbolt mechanisms. He lubricated the mechanisms and was able to retract the deadbolt and get the upper and lower latches to open and close which allow me to close the door. Steve was very thorough and he made every effort to get the deadbolt to function again. He finally concluded that the deadbolt mechanism needed to be replace. In addition to being very thorough, Steve was very personable. I appreciated his willingness to come after hours. I will definitely use him again in the future if I need the services of a handyman
