"Valley Heating was courteous and professional at all times. They kept their promises and met their installation date. Because they were backlogged with heater repairs, they loaned us without charge an electric space heater for the interim. I wasn't satisfied with the exposed fiberglass batting applied to the base of the furnace. The crew told me that it was not routine to wrap the fiberglass. But Valley agreed to send a technician to wrap it later at no charge. They did so and now I'm a satisfied customer. My only complaint is that both the furnace and the AC rated at the low end of the efficiency scale, despite costing almost $9,000. Fortunately, the weather in Sunnyvale is mild so paying more for greater efficiency did not make sense."

"Sal from ABC Cooling and Heating came a day after I called the company (I got an appointment with them 5 minutes after sending the email requesting an appointment). He was professional and pleasant. He explained to me how to clean the filters in my furnace and how to install them back in place, thus saving me $200. I appreciated his advice, as I really didn't want to spent that money on him simply just washing the filters, a do-it-yourself job, if the home owner is able to do it. At the end, we were able to replace a bad capacitator and figure out that the compressor worked just fine with this new part. I paid $234 for the capacitator, $59 for the home visit and labor and got 10% off as a member of Angie's list. I am not sure if it was a good price or not for the capacitator (I didn't check prices online), but I was perfectly happy with the job and Sal. I think that $59 was a good price for the labor, considering that you have to pay this fee anyways for the diagnostic/home visit."

the best part was their price, $11,000 after $2,650 in PG&E rebates.  their competitor Moore Heating & A/C quoted me $21,000 net after rebates for the EXACT same Carrier system, the same furnace and A/C model numbers even.  and Simpson's price included larger diameter ducting than Moore quoted, and a 2nd air intake which Moore did not include.  I SAVED TEN THOUSAND BUCKS -- and got a top-quality system.
