"Eddie contacted me shortly after making my request and came to my place the same afternoon so that I could pick the color for the patio coating. Eddie scheduled me quickly and got the job done as soon as weather permitted. Throughout the process, Eddie kept me updated. He not only did great work on my project, his communication standards set him apart from many other contractors in the area. I’ll have another project for him soon. I highly recommend Eddie and his company for his efficiency and high standards!"

"Garage Flooring Pros do what they say they are going to do, no BS. I am so glad I got my garage floor epoxied. In previous homes I have owned, I did a DUI epoxy myself but was not satisfied with the end results. The difference between DUI and garage flooring pros is night and day. Only thing I regret is not getting it done sooner!"

"Since we were not sure what would be the best flooring for the use of the clubhouse we asked for a recommendation. We went with the vinyl plank flooring that was recommended. The new floor looks great and functions perfectly."

"They did an excellent job installing two concrete pads in my backyard. A 10×12 and a 12×12. They take great pride in the work they do and it shows. Everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend. You will not be disappointed."

"Both experiences were positive. All workers showed courtesy and respect. All work was professionally done. Each worker made a serious effort to do his work well. Our property was safe. At the end of each day work areas were cleaned prior to workers leaving. Acra's design center was inspiring. I chose to do much of the shopping from it. That extended the project of a kitchen renovation to a whole house experience! With the most recent project the sheet metal backing for a specific door and replacing wood molding meets the need to protect the area from further damage. We were pleased with all aspects of our experience!"

Epoxy Flooring questions, answered by experts

Unlike paint, concrete stain won’t peel off. Instead, the color absorbs into the surface of this porous building material. While it doesn’t peel, the stain only penetrates the top layer of concrete, and as the top of the concrete eventually wears away, so will the stain. However, this process is much slower than paint peeling, especially on low-traffic surfaces.

Acid-based concrete stain is generally considered the best option because it lasts about four times as long and penetrates the deepest into concrete to give richer, full-bodied colors. If you prefer more vibrant colors, though, many water-based concrete stains are available that could provide a solution you can't find from earth-toned acid-based solutions.

Polished concrete gets its glass-like finish from several rounds of polishing, using increasingly finer grit diamond grinding pads. The concrete’s hardness will determine which grits you need to get your desired finish. The densifier and sealer also contribute to the look of the final floor, so either talk to a concrete pro (or hire one) to achieve the right concrete floor finish.

In most cases, yes, sealing concrete will stop spalling. However, it’s not a perfect solution—it may only delay spalling. Call your local concrete repair contractor for quotes on the best sealing options to prevent spalling.

Yes, you can seal an old concrete floor as long as you remove stains and repair damage before sealing. Remove everything from the garage and clear the floor throughout with a concrete cleaner and power washing. Fill in cracks larger than 1/8 of an inch wide and remove all grease and rust stains before sealing. Make sure your concrete is fully dried before applying sealer.
