"The plumber, Leo Brogan (Tech #38) helped us identify the type of cartridge needed, and then came promptly after our call and quickly installed the part. We have had excellent experiences with Pioneer on many occasions. Their plumbers are extremely well trained and very thoughtful. Price was pretty high, in part because of the cost of the cartridges."

"My old gaspac HVAC quit working. I searched the internet to find the highest SEER 5 ton units. I contacted several dealers and Done Rite gave me a free estimate and they had the best price. They installed the unit a couple days later and I couldn't be happier. Very professional install and answered all the questions I asked."

"I work for an aged apartment complex and with that being said, when we have plumbing issues, they are usually pretty big deals. William Northington has ALWAYS been there when I needed him the most. He's very professional, knows what he is doing and always explaines to you on exactly what he found and how to take care of the problem. He has replaced the boiler systems I have and took care of any other issues that were presented to him. Not only does he do an amazing job but he also follows up with you after the work was done to make sure everything is running as it should be. If I could give William more than 5 stars, I would! I highly recommend William from Will's All Pro to help you with any plumbing issues you may have!"

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

Professionals can recommend efficient layouts or appliances and ensuring regulatory compliance.

The primary differences between a heat pump and a boiler are their function and how they produce heat. A heat pump is a versatile system that provides both heating and cooling by moving ambient air and altering its temperature. In contrast, a boiler is solely a heating system, often working with a furnace or AC unit as part of a larger HVAC system. In terms of heat production, a heat pump generates heat more slowly and at a lower temperature, requiring a large convector for distribution. A boiler, however, produces a large amount of high-temperature heat that it emits through smaller radiators.

The average lifespan of a boiler is typically between 15 and 20 years, though some may last for as little as 10 years while others can reach 30. A boiler's longevity is influenced by several factors, including the quality of the unit, proper installation, and consistent professional maintenance.

The material also plays a significant role. Older boilers made from durable cast iron can last for over 20 years, with some functioning for up to 50 years. However, it's important to consider their lower efficiency, which can lead to higher utility bills. Modern boilers, often made from steel alloys, are designed to withstand high pressure and temperatures and have an average lifespan of about 20 years.

To maximize your boiler's lifespan, ensure it is installed correctly, have it professionally maintained each year, and address any necessary repairs immediately.

Due to fuel line connections and venting complexity, professional installation is required for safety and efficiency.

Warmed or cooled air can escape your home through drafty windows and doors. If you notice any gaps, be sure to caulk and seal them. You can also hire a local pro for an energy audit to get a list of energy-saving recommendations.

Finally, check your insulation. It can settle in over time and become less effective. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that you can save an average of 15% on heating and cooling costs (or 11% of total energy costs) by sealing leaks and making sure attics, crawl spaces, and basements have a nice layer of insulation.
