"I was very happy with the help they provided in moving my solar hot water panels before and after the patio roofing redo. They arrived early, did the repair work on the wood, and completed the reroofing promptly. Went above and beyond with helping me reset the solar hot water panels. Difference between a 4.5 and 5 star rating was less than perfect cleanup after the job. Little bits of this and that left behind. Would recommend them if you needed roofing work."

"I inquired online through Angi about Royal Roofing. Promptly Sterling returned a call to me and we chatted. I have a 14 year old flat foam roof which is generally in good shape but has experienced blistering over the years. I have done the maintenance work but was inquiring about if there were alternatives to consider. Sterling decided that he wanted to come and inspect the roof. He showed up as promised at the time and day of the appointment. He was polite, friendly and professional. I appreciated Sterling taking the time to visit with me and discuss options."

Customers say: Quick response

"Ernnie was a true Professional in every sense of the word. He was timely, efficient, polite and very committed. Even though the job was a small one, he kept me updated every step of the way. He sent me photographs of the original roof problem, and as he completed steps in the repair. He also kept me verbally informed on his progress. I would highly recommend Ernnie."

"I had Jimmy replace the roof on my 1940â s house and he and his crew did an excellent job. He had to replace the fascia and soffits and do a lot of repairs to the roof. They did a great job and best of all my wife loves it"

Roofing questions, answered by experts

The cost to install a drip edge on an existing roof runs about $1 to $3 per linear foot, which comes out to between $150 and $1,000, with an average cost of $575. These are just averages; the total project price can vary depending on the type of drip edge chosen and whether you hire a professional for the installation. Factors like roof size, complexity, and labor rates also play a role in determining the final cost.

Though roof coatings can last up to two decades, it’s a good idea to recoat your roof every four to six years. This is especially important if you have a built-up roof, which is vulnerable to moisture issues. Inspect your built-up roofs annually to make sure they don’t need a new coat.

Yes, capped chimneys should still be vented. Failing to vent a chimney will result in condensation buildup inside the chimney, which commonly results in mold growth. If mold begins to grow in a chimney, it frequently goes undetected and spreads quickly through the home. Mold and moisture can damage the structural integrity of your home, and exposure to mold can cause discomfort and illness in residents.

The formula for calculating how many squares of roofing you need is pretty easy. Take the total amount of square footage and divide it by 100. With this formula in mind, a 2,000-square-foot roof would require 20 squares of roofing material to adequately cover it.

Rain shouldn’t come in through your ridge vents unless your vents are damaged or the rain is accompanied by very high winds. Most ridge vents use flashing or baffling to keep out rain, snow, and debris. If your ridge vent isn’t baffled, rain is more likely to enter your attic, so ridge vents with baffles are a better choice in areas with regular rainfall.
