"Spencer Roofing did an absolutely amazing job. They were so fast and efficient. Especially in this heat! I’ve already noticed a huge difference in my 1994 home with keeping the air cooler. 100% would recommend to all my neighbors, friends, family, and people in the grocery store! "JR Roofing is an extremely professional company that sold us after we interviewed 6 roofing companies. Their prices are fair and a great deal for the quality of craftsmanship that we experienced with their work. They are honest and hardworking and did the whole roof in a day and a half. Our house looks like a whole new house and I really had no idea it could look this good! I would recommend them to anyone. Thank you!"

"I originally hired Alex to paint the exterior of house in Oct 2019. I was very pleased with the customer service and the quality of the workmanship. I also had him re-seal my back yard patio at that time. This time I had him repair a leak on the roof and apply sealant to the entire roof. I am highly satisfied with how fast the work was completed, the quality of the workmanship which were both outstanding. I highly recommend them for roofing and painting."

"Our roof in Chandler was nearing the end of its lifespan, and we were considering a replacement. We contacted several roofing companies, but Chris at Phoenix Roof Masters stood out. He was patient with all our questions and provided detailed information about different roofing materials and options. We appreciated his honest assessment and competitive pricing."

"Shelby, came to my home within 1 day after the storm damage. Roofing tiles and underlayment were blown off the second story roof. Storm damage about $2500 and unknown never completed home warranty repairs $3000. Pictures from the drone and physical inspection perfectly identified what repairs need to be made. Additionally, Shelby’s knowledge, expertise and experience are a 10!!!"

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Metal roofs last for between 50 and 70 years, and asphalt roofs last for between 20 and 25 years, with some lasting as long as 30 years. In most cases, you’ll get double the life or more out of a metal roof than you would from a shingle roof, which helps make the higher cost of a metal roof more manageable.

A gable roof with steep pitches covered in asphalt shingles or wood shakes is the most popular roof for Cape Cod homes. Asphalt shingles started gaining popularity in the early 1900s, so wood shake roofs, which were popular in the 1700s when Cape Cod homes were first built, are the traditional option. You can further modernize your Cape Cod home by raising the roof in the front, back, or both to add living space and change up the traditional single-gable roof with doghouse dormers.

The type of roof and roofing materials that are best for your mobile home depends primarily on its shape and slope. Rubber materials, such as EPDM and TPO, are best for flat, low-sloped, or bowed mobile home roofs. Asphalt shingles or metal roofing are best for mobile homes with sloped rooflines.

The best material for your shed roof depends on your budget and personal preferences. For instance, if you’re looking for the most cost-effective option, rolled roofing is your best bet. Just be aware that it only lasts for five to eight years. If you prefer something with a longer life span (and you’re willing to pay for that durability), consider slate shingles, which can last for hundreds of years.

While the terms are often used interchangeably, wood shakes and wood shingles have notable differences, primarily in their manufacturing and appearance. Wood shingles are machine-cut on both sides, resulting in a smooth, thin, and uniform product. In contrast, wood shakes are typically hand-split or sawed on only one side, giving them a more textured, natural, and rustic appearance. Due to these manufacturing differences, shakes are generally thicker, heavier, and less uniform than shingles. They are also more expensive. Homeowners seeking a more rustic aesthetic often choose shakes, while those preferring a more uniform look may opt for shingles. Both are installed in an overlapping pattern to create a durable, weather-resistant roof.
