"Jose responded to my inquiry promptly, setting an appointment the next day. There was a lot of clean up to do as our previous landscaper was lackadaisical. Jose spent 2 days here and was also able to get another professional to trim our palm trees. We have hired him on a weekly basis, looking forward to our yard looking more presentable without my husband having to trim bushes etc."

"Excellent work on removing a large acacia tree including stump removal. They also planted two new trees and installed the water system. New trees are thriving. It’s been three years. The crew completed the jobs in a half day and were very tidy. A little high on price, but worth it."

"Antonio from Quality Landscaping came out on 5/27/23 provided quote for three large trees , stated he could start job on 6/02/23 at 6:00am. I thought at the time quote was a bit high. Antonio and his team were here at exactly 6:00am ( impressive) When I saw what appeared to be thousands of large tree limbs I thought quote was right on the money. Antonio was very precise and you could see he had done this for many years I think he said, seven. I am so pleased with his expertise in tree trimming the best we have ever had! Clean up was great! I would recommend Quality Landscaping to anyone who wants fair and reasonable pricing and quality service this is the very best company."

"The trees were not trimmed all the way around. It seemed his strap that held him, was not long enough to wrap completely around the palm tree. He missed several **shoots** that must have been sprouting at the time he was trimming. We could not see them from our vantage point on the ground, but he would have seen them, had he been able to move to that side of the tree. We now have about 6 giant shoots that are about to open, and will be falling in our pool any day now. We also had/have alot of the bark from the top of the tree falling down, landing in the pool, and on the decking. The pieces are quite large, and could be dangerous. Overall, we are not happy with the job. We are requesting that he come back to our home, and finish his job. Please advise us if he will be coming back out. Thank you for your attention to this matter. - Christopher B."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Pruning can impact cold hardiness—but it’s less about the exact temperature and more about temperature variation. Generally, you don’t want to prune trees when there’s a risk of temperatures suddenly dropping from 50 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit to 0 degrees Fahrenheit or below. A tree is most sensitive until 48 hours after it’s pruned.

As a general rule, the protected area should be about 1½ times as wide as the canopy of the tree’s leaves. This digging measurement can vary by tree species and the age of the tree. Of course, that can be a lot of fencing for larger trees, which is why our first step is about making difficult decisions on which trees to save.

If you’re planning on keeping the tree, unless the roots are invasive, there’s no need to remove them, as doing so can cause damage to the tree. If the tree has been cut down and the stump and roots are left, grinding and removing the stump can cause root decay for some species. For other species, the stump and roots will need to be removed to prevent pests, disease, and possible tree regrowth.

Salt, herbicide, light deprivation, boiling water, and burning can all help dissolve a tree stump. You can also bury the tree stump in soil or mulch to help it rot naturally. Killing a tree stump prevents future regrowth, but you may also remove it by digging it out or grinding it.

In general, trees should be planted no closer than 15 to 20 feet from your foundation. For larger trees with far-reaching roots like maples, oaks, or poplars, a good guide is to plant as many feet from your home as the tree’s height is expected to reach at maturity. Some trees, like elms and willows, should only be planted far from where their roots may encounter sewer or water lines.
