"Design Tree Maintenance was so helpful and responsive to my concerns and needs. Half of my Palo Verde tree suddenly fell across my front yard. Design Tree Maintenance's quick service response to my calls, along with the quick removal and thorough clean-up by their crew, was excellent. I would highly recommend Design Tree Maintenance to my family and friends. Thank you!"

"The company representative was prompt in responding to our just getting an estimate.  He came out exactly when he said he was going to be at our house.  The cost was extremely reasonable compared to others, so we hired them.  The office scheduled the time and notified us as to the date and time window of when to expect them.  The crew showed up on time and did an excellent job of pruning and did a great clean up.  I didn't think enough was taken off the trees, so I emailed them a couple of weeks later on a Saturday asking if they would come back and cut the trees like the pictures I'd attached to the email.  Their office manager responded back to me on a Sunday giving us the date the crew would be back.  They also called the day before to give the time window again.  The crew showed up as promised and did a good job on the trees.  They're an excellent company.  I'll use them in the future and would highly recommend them."

"Chip's tree service was the greatest. They took down an over 50 foot, 40 year old pine tree in one hours time. Friendly courteous crew. They grind everything up in a chipper. Left the property clean. I highly reccomend."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

You need to remove all branches affected by Dutch elm disease. If your tree has several affected branches, you will probably need to remove the entire tree. First, consult a pro to be sure that you’ve correctly identified it as an elm tree. Make sure the tree is properly disposed of with a plastic covering or through debarking, chipping, or burning.

Local tree removal prices range from $200 to $2,000 overall, but vary depending on:

  • Local cost of labor and supplies

  • Accessibility of the tree

  • Local laws regarding who is allowed to remove the tree

  • The species of the tree (softer woods are often easier to remove)

  • Local seasonal discounts for the off-season

Yes, it is highly recommended to remove tree stumps. Leaving them in the ground can lead to several problems, as they are not only unsightly but can also reduce your property's value. Stumps can obstruct landscaping plans, make mowing difficult, and hinder new growth. More importantly, they are prime breeding grounds for pests like termites, ants, and mice, which can spread to your home and cause costly damage to its wood and foundation. Stumps also attract fungi and diseases that can infect other healthy trees and plants in your yard. As a stump decays, it might sprout new, unwanted shoots. While removing a stump is an investment, it prevents these potential issues and enhances the safety, health, and appearance of your landscape.

It takes anywhere from three to seven years for a stump to decompose on its own. This timeframe can depend on the kind of tree and your climate. The lower to the ground the stump is, the faster it rots. If you kill a tree stump with salt, boiling water, herbicide, light deprivation, or burning, the tree stump decomposes faster.

Yes, you should trim the lower branches of your maple tree for safety. Trimming maple trees as they grow helps lift the crown and canopy and trains it to grow straight up. A good rule of thumb is to prune enough branches to leave 6 feet of clearance under the tree.
