Beware of Design Tree – Dishonest, Unprofessional, and Terrible Customer Service! We hired Design Tree after installing 15 brand-new mature ficus trees, paying over $13,000 for their professional services. This included an upgraded spring timer/water flow monitor, $75 per month for them to monitor the system, and $500 for fertilization. Despite this, our trees developed a disease due to water flow issues that Design Tree was supposed to prevent. The new water flow monitor was supposed to alert them if there was any change with the sprinkler system. When we reached out, the owner admitted that several of his employees had dropped the ball by not monitoring or reporting things correctly. We also found out that the monitoring system wasn’t even sending them alerts, but they never informed us of this problem. Despite this negligence, they refused to take responsibility for the damage. Initially, they promised to replace the trees, but once we provided them with a quote, they completely backtracked and claimed it wasn’t their fault. They didn’t offer any compensation or solutions after we spent all that money. If you’re thinking of using this company, think again. They’ve shown a complete lack of professionalism, integrity, and accountability. I cannot recommend them after this terrible experience.

I was very pleased with the service I received to trim and shape a palo verde tree which hadn't been touched in many years and needed a lot of work. The arborist explained clearly what needed to be done. The crew arrived as scheduled, and made sure I was satisfied before leaving. They did an excellent job--the tree looked beautiful! Everyone involved, including the customer service staff, was very courteous and professional.

When my neighbor noticed the tree between our houses were looking stressed, she called and the arborist came the next day. He diagnosed the problem and the trees were treated a day or two later. I wrote this email to their Customer Service Rep who I was corresponding with. After 6 days of no action, this is what I wrote to them. Please cancel our request for an estimate from your company. We have corresponded since August 10th and nothing has happened despite sending you photos and complying with other requests you have asked for. I called your company phone number this morning and it rang forever and there was never any answer even though it was 9:30 AM Phoenix time. I saw that your offices open at 8:00 AM. I am so disappointed that it is so difficult to communicate with your company and to get an arborist out to the property for a simple estimate. As a result, I have contacted another company who has demonstrated their efficiency and by that I mean they will be out on the property this Friday and will furnish us with an estimate. Therefore we are no longer interested in your services.

They did a really good job of bracing the leaning cactus. They still have to come out in the next 6-8 months and adjust the bracing. The only small issue I had was the scheduling of the crew. They were not prompt on their times they stated when they would be there. However, it all worked out in the end.

All the guys were great! We were very happy with the pruning and shaping of the lemon tree. The ficus tree was cleaned out as much as was possible under the circumstances. I have been working with this company off & on for over 10 years and I continue to go back to them because I trust them. Nick the arborist is great and the workers that come out to do the actual work know what they’re doing so I trust them all. The surprise downside this year was a new policy they have which is a $450 minimum for them to even come out and also that Has to be paid upfront before the work is done, as a deposit. As it happened this year that worked out for me because the work I needed done this year is well over that amount anyway. But if you have a small job, it may not be for you.

Excellent the provider. The serviceman who came had the loveliest eyes the eyes of a tree lover. I felt 1000 percent confident that he understood how to take lovely care of my trees. He was on time, and comprehensive in his service delivery. Honest, trustworthy and remarkable in every way. I would 1000 percent recommend Design Tree’s tree maintenance services. I wish I could say the same about the quality of their tree trimming services, which I hired 2 seasons ago. Perhaps they have improved since that time but I didn’t see the point in trying for a third round after paying a premium price to not be satisfied with round one and round 2 annual trimming of my 2 0-year old mature African sumac Trees. I have a background in landscape maintenance and come with the expectation of perfection in landscape design and maintenance. Beauty is so important.

Everything Design Tree has done for us over the last decade has been top notch. We began with trimming two large mesquite trees prior to the summer “monsoons”. We were so impressed with the job they did that we have become regular customers. The crews are experienced, efficient, arrive as scheduled, and do a thorough clean-up. They feed all the cut branches into a chipper and haul away the wood chips. Last step in the job—they sweep the street around the chipper, collect the dropped wood chips, and haul them away too. We initially chose Design Tree because they were licensed, insured and a member of BBB. Crew members wear appropriate safety gear (climbing harnesses, hardhats, safety goggles, hearing protection, etc). We have worked with the same arborist, Ben, since day one. He is knowledgable, professional and responds to messages on his voicemail promptly.

they cancelled by text hours before expected Friday and stated they would instead come at 8 am sat. they did not come at all on Sat. and did not reschedule. they called Monday am and said they were coming any minute at a time I could not be there to oversee. they expressed but minimal remorse over this lowbrow customer service. not worth their price tag
