"My trees looked very healthy after being treated by these arborists. Had to get over the "sticker shock" as we didn't budget for this extravagant expense. I reasoned that it was better to "bit the bullet" than replace the trees."

Customers say: True professional

"Fabian and the tree crew did a great job with a 70 plus tall willow acacia between two residences. Amazing to see in action and would recommend for professionalism, budget friendly, and promptness. Also did a good clean up and even helped out a furniture maker."

"Francisco and his guys went above and beyond my expectations. As stated in other reviews, he was prompt and professional. The three palm trees I wanted gone were down and away within 12 hours of me first contacting him. His price was more than fair and he even cut down two more dying trees and two bougainvillea bushes while he was here for a more than reasonable price. He has many other services than just tree removal and his company is the only one I will use moving forward when it comes to my yard. Thank you again Francisco!!"

"Jose responded to my inquiry promptly, setting an appointment the next day. There was a lot of clean up to do as our previous landscaper was lackadaisical. Jose spent 2 days here and was also able to get another professional to trim our palm trees. We have hired him on a weekly basis, looking forward to our yard looking more presentable without my husband having to trim bushes etc."

"This company was fast, professional and did a great job! I called around 9 AM,they had someone here before 10 to give me a bid, it was a great price, so I hired them and my tree was completely removed, with awesome yard clean up, before noon. I will recommend them if ever asked about tree removal."

"Jack the arborist was great! Came out to personally inspect and gave a good estimate. Was up front with our options to get done what we wanted to get done (the tree removal was large). The office customer service was also prompt and thorough. Project and cleanup was done swiftly and cleanly."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

If the roots are still alive, the dead tree will usually try to put out new shoots. That doesn’t mean the tree will survive or that the dead parts of a tree will come back to life. If parts of the tree have died and turned gray or rotten, nothing will bring them back to life and they need to be safely removed.

You may be looking to identify maple trees to use for home improvement projects. In that case, you can tell hard maples by looking at their leaves. Leaves will have a U-shaped dip, or sinus, between the points, or lobes, of the leaves. Leaves of soft maples tend to have V-shaped sinuses.

If you already have the cut wood in front of you, look for a light, uniform color to identify hard maple wood and check for variations of red, gray, or brown streaks and an overall darker color in soft maple wood.

It is possible to cut down a tree on your property yourself, but it is generally not recommended unless specific conditions are met. You should only consider this project if the tree is small (e.g., under 4-5 inches in diameter and short enough that you don't need a ladder to reach the branches), and you are experienced in handling a chainsaw. The tree must also be located far from any power lines, fences, homes, or other structures. Even for small trees, the work can be dangerous, and it's always advisable to have a spotter to ensure the tree falls correctly and no branches fall on you.

For any tree that is large, requires a ladder to access, or is near electrical lines or structures, you should always hire a professional. Attempting to remove a large tree yourself is extremely dangerous, poses a risk of serious injury, and could result in significant damage to your property.

Before any tree removal, it's also important to check your local and state regulations to ensure the tree is not historic or otherwise protected by your city.

Any tree that needs to be pruned should be pruned to remove dead branches at least once a year. You may need to prune far more often if you’re trying to maintain a certain shape or to save a tree that suddenly becomes infected.

Steer clear of the area and contact your utility company immediately. It will have a website portal and/or a phone number to report downed trees and electrical issues. If the tree appears to be on public land, you may want to call your local government and report the issue there, too.
