"From the moment I contacted Envision Painting I had a very pleasant experience. Kimberly the office manager did research and recommended a Rustoleum Porch and Deck paint from Dunn Edwards. She went above and beyond and contacted Dunn Edwards, spoke to a gal there, gave her my name and told her that I would be going there to look at the paint and pick out my colors. When I got to Dunn Edwards the person was expecting me, helped me immediately and I was out in just a few minutes. On the day that I was to have the job performed Alan the crew chief came and spoke to me and explained that it was going to rain in a few short hours (which it did) and recommended we postpone the job until a few days later. He came on the specified day, applied the paint and waited until the paint sufficiently dried to apply a second coat. He did a meticulous job to my satisfaction. He was very professional, on time and very customer oriented. This was not my first time using Envision Painting. They painted my home about 6 mos. ago and again did an excellent job. I am very very picky and I can't say enough about how they assured me that they were going to please me and they definitely did an excellent job as well as provided excellent customer service. Kimberly and Alan and their crew are the best!! I highly recommend Envision Painting!!"

"Jorge the owner of the company responded to request immediately. Met with him in 24hr for a free estimate, quoted us fair price and when he told me he uses Sherman William I was sold. When the guys Guero and Carlitos showed up each day they did every step exceptionally. That made our home look so gorgeous with the color selection and black matte touches. Deser Fine Painting LLC is an excellent company, quick to respond, completed job on scheduled. The workers reflect the owner of the company. We will use them for exterior house paint and cabinet painting also. Thank you guys you are an awesome job!. Very satisfied clients. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆"

"I hired the AZ Painting Co to repaint the exterior of my small stucco home. They also replaced some rotting wood and power washed a small stain on my block wall. At the time they were offering a 10% discount. I thought they did a great job, worked quickly and efficiently and I would definitely hire them again!"

"They were fabulous! Our house looks amazing! They followed our HOA guidelines and were on time every day.  We had them paint our block wall fence which had some water stains. They treated the water stains before painting and the fence looks beautiful. They are very professional and their clean-up was great.  I would highly recommend this wonderful family owned business!"

"Great! Rick, Rob and Rob Jr showed up right on time and set to work. Cleaning, sealing and masking prep work and a lot of the painting done the first day, with finish on second day, in spite of massive wind storm over night. Thoroughly professional, helpful in explaining the job to me, suggestions for colors, super cleanup after. House looks WAY better than it has in many years. Top marks altogether and highly recommended! R and R delivers."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

You should seal your deck every one to two years, but you’ll also need to clean and repair your wood deck throughout the seasons. You may want to hire a local house cleaning service to sweep and clean the deck thoroughly. These cleaning services cost around $50 per hour.

Inspect your deck at least once a year, and if you notice any damage or rot, expect to spend about $10 to $50 for simple DIY fixes or about $2,000 for professional repairs on more extensive damage.

For homes in areas with extreme weather, high heat, or intense sun exposure, high-quality acrylic paint is the best option. Acrylic paint is durable, resistant to both heat and cold, and provides a protective barrier with excellent UV resistance. For best results, look for acrylics that contain natural earth pigments, which are better suited for resisting sun damage. While oil-based paint is also durable, it can be prone to fading in high heat and can become too viscous to apply easily in cold temperatures. Additionally, choosing a neutral or light color like gray, beige, or white can help, as these colors absorb less heat than darker shades.

Yes, you can waterproof any wood that has not already been treated. A good way to test this is to splash some water on it. If the water starts to bead up, the wood is treated and most likely doesn’t need another coating.

The general consensus is that two coats of stain are required and since the cedar is siding, a third coat of sealant is always a good idea. This helps protect the wood and stain, so you won’t need to resand and restain for at least a decade. Each stain after the first will darken the wood, so be aware of that when choosing a colored stain.

It is not always necessary to remove old stain before restaining a deck. If the previous stain is in good condition and is compatible with the new stain, you may be able to apply a new coat after thorough cleaning. However, if the old stain is in bad condition, flaking, or peeling, it is best to remove it completely to ensure an even surface and proper adhesion for the new coat. Staining over a damaged layer can lead to an uneven finish and poor penetration. For best results, test a small area first and consult the stain manufacturer's guidelines.
