"Technician showed up at my house on time and treated the property exterior and interior. The week before I had done a check for scorpions outside with a black light and found seven. Since the treatment I have seen one live scorpion outside and several dead ones. I have put off getting professional pest treatment because I thought it wouldn't reduce the scorpions but it looks like it worked. I wish I would've done it earlier.

The technician found several spots where there were large numbers of cockroaches and soak those with pesticide.

"I can’t say enough good things about Revamped Pest Mgmt! We were dealing with a frustrating rodent problem that other companies hadn’t been able to solve. From the very first call, Brittney & Kai were professional, reassuring, and quick to respond. Kai arrived on time, inspected every area of our home, and pointed out where the rodents were getting in. He explained the treatment plan step by step, sealed off the entry points, and set everything up with care. What impressed me most was the attention to detail and how thorough the service was. They didn’t just put out traps and leave—they made sure the problem was handled at the source. Within a short time, we noticed the difference and finally had peace of mind knowing the rodents were gone. Kai even followed up afterward to check on the results and answer any questions. Highly recommend!"

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

There’s no denying the striking resemblance, but squash bugs are different from the brown marmorated stink bug. While both are shield-shaped and emit a foul odor when crushed, they belong to different insect families and target different plants. Squash bugs primarily attack squash, pumpkins, and other cucurbits, while stink bugs have a much broader range of host plants, including fruits, vegetables, and ornamental plants. Their eggs and feeding damage also differ, making proper identification key for effective pest control.

Will coffee grounds get rid of squash bugs?

What smell do squash bugs hate?

Even with professional pest control and taking your own drastic measures to eliminate a phorid fly infestation, it can be difficult to get rid of these pests for good. If you find that phorid flies keep appearing in your home, it’s very likely that you have a persistent source of moisture such as a drain leak or a cracked sewer. Another culprit could be a decaying animal carcass in your home’s foundations.

Summer is the best time of year to treat chinch bugs. Check the instructions on the treatment method or consult a pest control pro for timing recommendations. You want to wait for chinch bugs to have a chance at coming out of hibernation and move around, but not too long that they start doing damage. Aim for around mid to late spring for most chinch treatments.

Deer rely on scent to tell them what’s safe and unsafe, so effective deer repellents have to be pungent. Make your own natural repellent by combining a beaten egg, one tablespoon of cooking oil, one tablespoon of dish soap, and a half cup of milk. Pour it into a spray bottle and spray around your garden, avoiding anything you will want to eat later. This stinky repellent will ward off any deer that want to make your produce their next meal. But keep in mind that if your windows are nearby, the scent may waft over.

Preventing rats and mice from getting into the attic can be challenging, but it’s not impossible. Here are a few steps you can take to keep them looking elsewhere for a new place to call home:

  • Block or cover any potential access holes

  • Keep piles or stacks of firewood or other materials away from the house

  • Seal food and garbage in containers to prevent rodents from chewing through or getting in
