"Adonis Moving was great. I initially went with them because they were the most economical option, but their service was incredible. I first spoke with James who handles their booking and overall logistics (and I am sure several other things). He contacted me very quickly and we walked through my needs, which were to move out of a house and a storage unit and into a new house. He was very thorough and covered every detail I could think of (and that I didn't think of). My move consisted of moving from a house and a separate storage unit to a new house. James offered me a big truck with 4 movers for my move and was very quick to respond to my questions leading up to the move. Cut to the moving day: the truck we were scheduled to use had an issue, so they ended up providing me two smaller trucks (which likely had a greater combined volume than the scheduled truck) and 6 movers for the same price that we previously agreed to. Roger was the lead mover, and he and the other guys were very careful in disassembling, wrapping, moving, and reassembling my furniture. They were also VERY fast. So fast in fact that they finished an hour ahead of schedule, which ended up even cheaper for me. I cannot recommend them enough, and I would gladly use them again in the future.

"Fairfax Transfer has always been punctual, professional, and true to their estimate. In D.C. summer heat, pouring rain, or the worst snow, slush and ice, nothing stops these guys. Really, they've moved us in all of these conditions. One of our more complex moves involve two storage units, two houses and three trucks in pouring rain. They never missed a beat, and kept our possessions dry. Fairfax Transfer has always sent a representative to view the property before estimating, and they are a great value for the price. The men on the crews have always been friendly and very professional. They wrap and pad wood furniture pieces and shrink-wrap upholstered pieces, dis-assemble and re-assemble tables and other items, carefully pad and box artwork (they've moved my paintings up to 6 feet x 4 feet as well as large, glass-framed art), easily cope with less-often seen items like a woodworking shop including saws, dust collector, and tools, keep an accurate inventory, invite you to inspect the truck and the premises before they leave to make sure every box has been accounted for, have you walk the house with them for any adjustments to furniture placement or to note damage (we haven't had any). I recommend Fairfax Transfer without reservation.

"I was enticed by the cute name, because moving does generally suck, and it sucks more when it's a new home in the middle of a pandemic. But it sucks so much less when you find an amazing moving company with a team of professional, efficient, friendly employees. They were fair-priced and had no surprise/hidden fees. We already hired them a 2nd time (to pick up a dining set that was going to take too long for the furniture store to deliver) and we were very pleased. I recommend them to friends and family without hesitation.

"From start to finish - this company knows how to provide high quality customer service and highly skilled staff. I have never used professional movers before nor had I ever helped downsize and relocate a home. Our experience moving my parents from Potomac, MD to Newport News, Virginia was exceptionally smooth and efficient. The moving estimate was accurate, the packing materials provided were exactly what we needed, and everything followed the timeline we were promised. The moving team the day of the move were so very kind and thorough. They walked the whole house with me to be sure they were clear about what their task was and patiently worked around the medical equipment we had in the house for my dad. The next day, the team was there to unload the truck just as they promised at the agreed upon time. It was wonderful to see a familiar face with my parent's belongings! They were efficient and patient as we figured out what went where in the new home. Our "organizer" told us this was the BEST move she'd experienced in the last year and she does this for a living so she has LOTS of experience. I highly recommend Metropolitan Moving and Storage!
