"Arrived on schedule. Went through the elimination process and determined problem was in the line to the pump or the pump itself (no water pressure). The service rep explained everything so that I understood fully what was going to happen. The pipe to the well motor was pulled up and a nickel sized hole was found in the pipe about 10 feet from the pump. The pipeline was galvanized metal and was very rusty. More holes were sure to develop; so, I had the whole line replaced. We also found the pump was 30 plus years old so, I had that replaced too. The service rep kept me informed through the entire installation process; as well as what to do after everything was completed. The pump had to be flushed with chlorine so, there is a short waiting process, tap flushing proceedure and water testing that he explained before leaving."

"Kitchen remodel. Matt was very responsive and easy to work with. He was very organized and was able to complete the job in 2 weeks. The issues we had were from the people he brought in. Electrical - did not clean up wood shavings from where he drilled in basement, and I had to fix electrical outlet that was improperly installed. Am now having issue with another outlet being tripped that never had that issue before. Plumbing - left the water running in the utility tub in the basement. Since I do not go in the basement often I did not catch it until the next day. Behind the stove were a bunch of wood shavings and parts. Overall we are very pleased with the final product."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Hidden expenses during plumbing projects arise from updating aging infrastructure. Opening walls in older Greendale homes exposes lead pipes, galvanized steel, or asbestos insulation, which require specialized abatement. You face extra expenses if a camera inspection uncovers tree root intrusion in your sewer lateral. Correcting illegal cross-connections to meet local stormwater requirements also adds unexpected scope to your property updates in Wisconsin.

Helpful?

Build your seasonal routine around the local climate to keep your plumbing in top shape. In late fall, shut off outdoor hose bibs and test your sump pump before the ground freezes in Greendale. During winter, monitor your water pressure during sub-zero cold snaps. When spring arrives in WI, inspect your sewer lateral for tree root intrusion and check basement drains ahead of heavy snowmelt.

Helpful?

You should schedule plumbing projects if you notice visible pipe sweating or slow drains after a heavy Wisconsin snowmelt. In Greendale's older greenbelt homes, galvanized steel pipes degrade and require replacement. Check your water for a metallic taste or discoloration, which indicates pipe corrosion. Additionally, tree root intrusion in local sewer laterals causes recurring backups. Address these warning signs promptly to protect your property from water damage.

Helpful?

Knowing your home's construction year and renovation history dictates how you approach plumbing upgrades. Document the existing pipe materials throughout your house, as older Greendale properties contain a mix of galvanized steel, copper, and modern PVC. Obtain a recent camera inspection of your sewer lateral to identify tree root intrusion. Finally, verify your water service line material to ensure it meets current WI standards.

Helpful?

Upgrading your plumbing impacts multiple systems in older Greendale homes. If you have original hot water radiators, moving pipes interferes with your heating system and asbestos insulation. Rerouting drain lines affects how your basement waterproofing and sump pump function during heavy WI snowmelts. You must also account for whole-house water softeners, as bypassing this equipment incorrectly degrades your water quality. Always hire local professionals for safe integration.
