Holland’s inflated the prices of services after the flood in August. We have been loyal customers and the services we paid for through Holland’s are more than double their competitors. We brought this to their attention over a month ago and haven't been offered a satisfactory refund. Get other quotes before booking with Hollands.

On September 11, 2025, I hired Mr. Holland’s to clear and diagnose a main line clog. I was charged $738.04 for drain cleaning with a snake. The invoice states the technician attempted to snake the line multiple times but could not get it open, and because the drain was still impacted they were unable to camera the line. I was told the blockage was around 90 feet from the access point, but my own measurements showed that distance would place the problem across the street, which did not make sense. In reality, the blockage was never cleared and the scope I paid for was never attempted. Even though the line was still blocked and never scoped, I was given a written estimate for $39,900.34 to excavate and replace about 7 feet of my sewer lateral. That estimate included removing two sections of sidewalk, excavating down 9 feet, cutting out and replacing pipe with PVC and a cleanout, slurry backfill, and sidewalk replacement — but no landscaping restoration. No spot-repair options were offered. I later hired Subterranean Sewer Experts, who scoped the line and found the actual blockage about 30 feet inside the basement, not 90 feet away. They also scoped another access point closer to the street, which confirmed the sewer lateral was clear and did not need replacement. I had paid Mr. Holland for clearing a clog and performing a scope, neither of which were done. I was told by both phone and text that my payment would be refunded; I even saw the refund pending, but it was later reversed without notice. Because the blockage was left in place and the scope was never done, I was forced to hire another company and pay an additional $747.40 to complete the work Mr. Holland’s failed to perform. Based on my experience, I was charged for a service that was not performed, left with a blockage still in place, given a nearly $40,000 estimate for unnecessary sewer work, and denied a refund that was promised.

I realize this is a long review. I’m not usually one to leave a review (good or bad), but this company absolutely disgusted me. Here’s why. I will never again use or recommend this company. I was caught in the “1,000 year flood” that knocked out my furnace control circuit board. I knew this, and was on the phone 9:30AM SUNDAY (8/10/25) morning explaining that’s the ONLY part I need. Was assured that a tech would get to me that day. I called all day every couple hours and there was zero movement. Come to find out the call service they use can’t see the cases and notes that the main office enters. Big blunder there. My last call was around 8:30PM. The person on the phone tells me that my appointment EXPIRED?!? Now I’m mad. I asked for the manager to call me back because this is unacceptable. They tell me I’ll hear from her within 48 hours. Called Monday morning (8/11/25), gave all the details from Sunday. The main office can see the notes and all my calls. Told them the exact part I need and they again told me someone will get to me as techs are out until 10PM. I still called back every 3 hours or so looking for updates. No one could give them to me. They keep telling me my “standing” in line is valid for an “emergency service”. Called every few hours with no movement. The tech actually called me personally later that night and asked if he can come now, that would have been a $199 “emergency service call” since it was after hours. I asked if he even had the part on the truck, and he didn’t. So why would he even want to come? I denied that service call while he confirmed with his boss and the distributor that they had a board in stock and put it on Will Call for me, and the tech will be there in the morning to install it (Tuesday 8/12/25). Tuesday morning comes, and my power goes out at 8:44AM per the WE Energies text message I got. The tech calls me shortly after and says he will be going to pick up the board and be to my house. I told him about the power and he said there wouldn’t be much use to come with no power. Makes sense. I told him I’ll call the main office the second it comes back on. I got the text of power restored at 3:34PM. I was on the phone with Mr Hollands at 3:35PM. After all this…they tell me the soonest a tech can get to me is THURSDAY EVENING. What. The. ****. They told me I was on the waitlist for cancellations and I could slot in earlier if possible. I asked if the person on the phone with me (Gabriel) to call me the next morning (Wednesday 8/13/25) with some sort of status. He assured me he would call me by 9AM. He didn’t. I called the office AGAIN at 9AM Wednesday morning. At this point I still haven’t heard from the customer relations manager (Danielle). Turns out she’s off on Wednesdays. I spoke to another sales person that actually got me moved from Thursday evening to Thursday morning. They FINALLY get to my house Thursday morning, replace the board and everything works. Since it was sewer water that knocked out the board I wanted to be sure the inside of the unit was clean. I asked what I had to do to get inside the unit and he showed me, but also said that if I were to do it I would “void the warranty” and it would be $199 for him to do it. Since Mr Hollands installed the system literally LAST YEAR (July 2024) I accepted that keeping the warranty was probably for the best. BUT. Now that I paid $199 for Mr Hollands to clean the inside, I literally watched the tech remove 6 screws then use MY shopvac, MY bleach, MY rags….why did I pay $200 for that?!? As of writing this, 8/21/25. I still have not heard from this Danielle person. 8 business days later, when I was assured I would hear back in 48 hours. I am EXTREMELY disgusted at the way I was treated, lied to, and hung up on by this company. Never again will I be calling them. I advise you to do the same.

I'd give zero stars if I could. Called to get a drip fixed and was told it'd be about a week out, which we decided we could live with. Since this is an active drip, we've been managing by using a bucket and turning the main water valve off when not needing to use water. ON THE DAY OF OUR SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT, they called and said unfortunately another job was running over and they needed to reschedule our service. I figured it'd be the next day or at most 2 days... Nope, they told me it'd be 10 more days before I could be fit in due to their other commercial jobs that they can't change. Had I known I'd be cancelled on day of I could have had a half dozen other plumbers come out. If they can't reliably serve residential customers, then they should be honest or don't schedule them. If you're looking for residential work, DON'T TRUST the scheduling department of this place.

They made me wait for a week to get an estimate, booked an appointment with a four hour window on a Friday of a Holiday weekend and then failed to show or call. When I called to complain, their concession was to attempt to make me wait another week and hold me hostage with a two hour window. Not acceptable. When are contractors like this going to get their scheduling act together and stop standing working people up? If they don't want to perform free estimates, then don't. This was the only contractor Angie recommended. Dissapointed with them as well. I have a paid membership.

I have tried to work with this company multiple times and every single time have had issues. Their quotes are always insanely overpriced and the one time I did buy from them, they left my house with my sink leaking (Didn't leak before they came) and refused to do anything to fix it. I purchased their "Priority Club" service to get a discount on the work I had done, and the Priority Club is supposed to include 2 day priority service, discounts, and a free furnace and AC tune up. I called for a furnace tune up, had to book it over a month out, and then got a call the night before telling me they had to reschedule the tune up. Beyond frustrating to work with and overpriced for what is received.

Tech was punctual and friendly. Diagnosed the issue with the switches and outlets. Replaced half of the switches and the outlet repairing the problem. Unfortunately the new switches and outlet did not match the previous color leaving me with 2 white switches and two almond switches in the same bank of switches. Tech told me they could not make them all match because they don’t carry almond color switches. Completed after work survey and was contacted by customer service who stated that they would have a tech come back to the house and install the new white switch that i had purchased due to the inconvenience. New switch was installed without issue.

Our normal hvac dealer was bought out by Mr. H. The air went out. I live hours away, they knew the resident was disabled (learning ability of a 5 yr old) and only there to let them in. Air & new thermostat installed. Tech told the resident how to use it. He called me when done, said he left the manual, call if we have questions. Spring comes & the air doesn't work without the PIN. I called saying I know exactly what is wrong, we can't get the PIN. They refused help unless a tech came out. Bill was $275 for a 15 min call to the company to get PIN that the tech said should be in the manual. I refused permission to bill my card until I talked to the office. The tech had a neighbor sign instead to bill. I called, Anna will call me. She never did but claimed she contacted me several times. Find out they overcharged me. That was refunded but not the fee for info that should've been provided when installed. This company is a bully who refuses help unless you pay ridiculous amounts.
