We can help make your dream a reality through painting of walls and ceilings, to trim and cabinetry. We also do exterior painting of houses, barns, metal roofs, and more! Over the cooler months, we offer painting of furniture, such as dressers and tables. Along with painting we also do interior and exterior cleaning, which can be on a biweekly/monthly schedule, spring/fall deep cleaning, one time cleaning, and post construction clean up. In addition, satin paint will stick to your surface better if it’s primed. Sand and prime your surface before applying satin paint for best results.

When you hire a professional painter, this expert may use a paint sprayer to repaint a room instead of a roller and brushes. Using a paint sprayer versus a roller for a DIY job can be tough for a beginner. The cost of renting or buying a sprayer will be higher than buying rollers and brushes. It can be tough to ensure even coverage with a sprayer when you’re a beginner. Avoiding splatters and overspray in other areas of the room can be difficult, too. Sprayers will save a lot of time, though.

Many DIYers like to spray paint cabinets because it provides a more even-looking finish than painting with a brush. However, getting comfortable with a spray painter takes time and without practice, you may not spray the surfaces evenly. Take some time to practice painting with a HVLP sprayer on cardboard or scrap wood before diving into your project.

You can test to see if your mist coat has worked by using masking tape after the drying period. Apply masking tape to an inconspicuous area of the wall after the mist coat has had at least 24 hours to dry. Then, peel off the tape. It should come up clear, with no paint residue. If it does have paint residue, you may need to remove the mist coat and try coating the plaster again with a different ratio of paint and water.

While you can paint brick or concrete pavers, you shouldn’t. Even with a matte finishing paint, it still creates a reflective surface where sunlight bounces off. This increases heat during summer months, making the pavers hard to walk on. The reflection can also damage your eyes. Finally, paint seals the pavers in the least desirable way and makes them impermeable, trapping water and moisture inside, which can cause other problems. Paint layers also chip easily.
