We can help make your dream a reality through painting of walls and ceilings, to trim and cabinetry. We also do exterior painting of houses, barns, metal roofs, and more! Over the cooler months, we offer painting of furniture, such as dressers and tables. Along with painting we also do interior and exterior cleaning, which can be on a biweekly/monthly schedule, spring/fall deep cleaning, one time cleaning, and post construction clean up. It’s best to remove wallpaper rather than paint over it. You should only paint over wallpaper if removing it would damage the wall, the surface is relatively smooth, or there are minimal problem areas—such as slight peeling and lifted seams—that you can fix easily. Painting over wallpaper can save time, but it can create more problems if the wallpaper is in poor condition and you don’t properly prep the area for painting. Depending on the state of the wallpaper, color, and textures could show through, and moisture from the paint could loosen the adhesive, causing unsightly bubbling.

If you caulk after painting, a few things can happen that you definitely don't want to happen. For one, caulk is messy and can make for an equally messy finish. Second, applying caulk after painting might not provide proper insulation because the paint is underneath the caulk and doesn’t add the same protection as caulk. Third, if you caulk after painting, you'll see the caulk line, which can really detract from the look of your home.

Homeowners may choose chalk paint over regular paint if they want to hide all of the wood’s grain, don’t want to apply a large number of coats, and like the extreme matte appearance. Chalk paint is easier to work with than regular paint and adds a unique texture to furniture that regular paint just can’t match. 

You should always use a primer before painting over wallpaper to help the paint adhere correctly and get a good finish. Not all wallpaper can be painted over, so do a test patch in an inconspicuous area before painting an entire wall. If the primer and paint don’t adhere, you’ll need to remove the wallpaper, prime the wall, and then paint.

This largely depends on your environment and how well the paint was sealed. Properly sealed chalk paint furniture that isn’t regularly dinged by toys or steel boots can last 5 years or—often significantly—longer. However, if it isn’t sealed correctly or is subject to regular wear and tear, you can expect the coat to last 3 years or less.
