"Puget Sound B&R did an amazing job finishing my basement. Emil made sure everything was done right and kept me informed every step of the way. The space is now comfortable and looks great. I would definitely hire them again."

"These guys are great! I have a few cabinet doors that needed to be painted to finish up a kitchen cabinet refacing project we started before we moved into our condo. We reached out to multiple people to get a quote for painting just a few cabinet doors. We were on a budget, and I didn't think we'd be able to get the work done until we could save up more, but these guys are so nice that they offered to work with us on our budget - it truly felt like a Christmas miracle (I may have teared up, it was so kind)! They did a great job painting the cabinets and turned them around in just a couple of days, even though I told them they could take their time. In the future, we hope to repaint all the walls in our home, and I will reach out to Color Cat Painting when the time comes!"

"Scott and Sons have done some remodeling for me. So I wanted to share some pictures because it turned out amazing. They were very professional. They were on time every day, and very nice to work with. I have hired them twice now and I would hire them again."

Customers say: Quick response

"Dave and Jesse did an excellent job and will be recommending them for anyone that is looking to hire a professional team to paint their cabinets. They were super clean and detail oriented and kept us posted on their progress the entire time we were away on vacation. Dave knows his stuff, is an excellent communicator and his price was more than fair. You get what you pay for. We paid for excellence, and that's what we got. Thanks again Dave and Jesse for the great job! Cheers, Dave and Ann"

Closets questions, answered by experts

Clean regularly, avoid overloading shelves, and check hardware for wear to ensure longevity.

The vertical space between closet shelves depends on what you're storing. For clothing like shirts and sweaters, 10 to 12 inches is enough. Towels and linens need 12 to 15 inches, while tall storage bins may require 18 inches or more. Overcrowding your shelves can reduce accessibility and increase clutter, so be sure to leave breathing room for your items.

A "reach-in pantry" is a smaller, cabinet-style pantry that allows you to grab items by simply reaching inside. On the other hand, a "walk-in pantry" is like a closet or small room that offers a larger space that you can physically enter to get your food. Walk-in pantries allow for more customizable shelving. A reach-in pantry is usually around 5 feet wide by 2 feet deep, while a walk-in pantry is closer to 5 feet by 5 feet or larger.

There are a few reasons custom closets are expensive: materials used, the luxury factor, and time to build. The people who can afford custom closets are those who can afford increased rates, and construction workers and contractors know this and charge accordingly. The time to build custom closets is substantial, especially if expensive material is being used or intricate details (like carved wood) are added to the project.

DIY is possible for basic designs. Professional services ensure proper construction and space optimization.
