Small jobs welcome

"I needed two stumps removed and this company came to my rescue. They grinned both stumps in less than 30 minutes (even got rid of the roots for me), cleaned the job site, and left. Neil was super professional and responsive and beat any other quote I had for the job. Highly recommend them for your tree service needs."

Customers say: True professional

"Martin Landscaping: HARD WORKER!!! Consistent and a MAN OF HIS WORD. I am so pleased with the results. They are BETTER THAN EXPECTED. Mature, pleasant and kind. I have not one bad remark to say. I would more than highly recommend Martin Landscaping for any yard work. We even discussed regular maintenance until the growing season. I hope Martin Landscaping will be there for me throughout next year as well. I will definitely need the help."

"Mike, the owner, is a great guy. His workers were hard-working, nose to the grindstone type of men. They did a great job trimming/de-sailing my very large, tall pine trees in Yelm, WA. They cleaned up great too. I will hire Mike and his guys when I decide to remove a few trees. Use them, you won't be disappointed!!"

"Blake and the Arbor Barber team were fantastic! I had originally contacted four companies to provide me with estimates for cutting down two overgrown cherry trees. One company didn't show to provide an estimate and the remaining three were all within $50-$100 of each other. While Arbor Barber were the highest estimate, they were the company that I felt the most comfortable with. From the phone call with their office to schedule the appointment, to owner (Blake) that came to provide the estimate, to the crew that arrived to do the work, they were the most professional and friendly, and provided the most honest and pressure free estimate. The quality of the work was amazing, and I would recommend Arbor Barber to anyone that is looking for a fair and honest company to assist them with tree service."

"Great Job! There was alot of tree removal. Ryan had to rent a high lift to cut down and remove a very wobbly tree. He also removed some Hawthorne Trees with horrible thorns. They did a wonderful job of cleaning-up the tree trunks and truckloads of branches. Ryan also trimmed my Maple tree. Great Job Ryan, Thank you."

"Francisco has been my “go to guy“ for all of my macro projects for many years. He limbs my fur trees, prunes my hedge (14’x14’x180’), winter prunes my 30 fruit, removed fallen tree from my house, installed new shrubbery beds. He is trustworthy, reliable, and excellent in what he pursues. You will love his generous smile and great attitude."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Usually, trees cannot grow back after their stump has been ground, but some very hearty types of trees can. For example, if you have a black locust or Redford pear, the grinding will need to go deep to prevent them from growing back. Ask your tree service or stump removal expert whether your tree can resprout after its stump is ground down.

Yes, burning wood with Dutch elm disease is a safer way to dispose of it than, say, tossing it in with the rest of your yard waste, which could potentially allow it to spread to healthy trees. But it’s always a good idea to check with your local government to make sure you’re complying with any ordinances about removing diseased trees as well as burning brush piles.

You should plant trees at least 15 to 20 feet away from your house, and more if the tree will grow large and spread its limbs. Trees pose several dangers to houses when planted too close. They can litter the roof with leaves and branches, create fire hazards, make a ladder for larger pests, and even damage the foundation as their roots grow.

Yes, pruning makes trees stronger because it fosters proper growth, weight distribution, and balance of the crown. By increasing the structural integrity of the tree through pruning, it’s less likely to experience disease, pests, broken limbs, and storm damage. Pruning the right branches and limbs is key to improving a tree’s strength and balance.

You can use a chainsaw, but it won’t remove the entire stump or root ball and is not a recommended method. It takes quite a bit of physical work to achieve and will likely dull or ruin your chainsaw. Instead, consider using salt, herbicide, light deprivation, boiling water, stump grinding, or burning to kill a tree stump. These methods allow you to kill a stump using minimal machinery and physical exertion.
