"Brock was exceptional not only in quality of his work but his demeanor. (And he took his shoes off!ð   ) A very good attitude with a heart to excel. We have been general contractors for years. Speaks volumes to say we will hire him again!"

"Initially contacted Jon to complete some demo and add fencing around a deck. We ended up working with him on our bathroom remodel as well. In total we had him complete the following: - tile demo & hauling - new drywall - room remodel - door installation - bathroom remodel - Deck railing installation Jon did a great job on every project. I appreciated his attention to detail and clean up after the job. Will definitely be working with Jon again in the future! Below I've posted the before and after pics of our bathroom remodel."

Small jobs welcome

"Was I ever lucky to hire Cliff! 35 years of experience, very detail oriented, easy to work with. He found that the first batch of tile I bought was all faulty. There was sand grit exposed in the finish glaze and the edges were wider in some spots that others which, he told me, would effect the uniformity of the grout lines. Then he went with me to get excellent tile. I would never have known that."

"Communication from the owner Brett was excellent. Extremely satisfied with the quality of the work. They installed a kitchen backsplash and they left both my kitchen and the outside work area absolutely spotless! We will absolutely use them again and I have already asked by my friends for their information!!! Also wanted to mention that the owner even stopped by mid project to check in with us to make sure everything thing was going satisfactorily. He called a few days later to check to make sure we were still satisfied. Very professional!!!"

"Victor saved our kitchen. We had hoped to work with him on a dishwasher install in the fall but his busy schedule (he's popular for a reason!) led to us working with a gig employee from Porch.com. Big mistake! The job was done poorly and within a few weeks the dishwasher was trying to escape from below our counter. I told Victor about the issue and he asked good questions, discerning the situation, and promptly ordering clips for a proper mounting. He arrived and completed the job in an hour. He explained his work throughout the repair process so I could better understand what was done improperly by the previous guy. He then guaranteed his work. Great communication Great craftsmanship Great overall dude Highly recommended"

"Harry Wheeler and his 2 employees did a very good job. They made sure that the roof dimensions were squared, and they did excellent work with the framing and installing the roofing material. The center part of the roof was an opaque corrugated fiber that let light into the area - and the replacement that Harry's team did is even better. It's a little larger than the one we had before and lets in more light. They also made sure that the vertical supports for the repaired roof were solid and that the barn itself was undamaged by the falling tree."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Your floors should be completely level for tile, otherwise you risk damaging the tiles in the future. When there are even small gaps or hills in the subfloor beneath the tile, this puts more pressure on the tile when you walk around on the floor. With repeated traffic, the tiles are at risk of cracking, and you’ll have to deal with tile repairs sooner than if the floor was completely level.

Generally speaking, it is better to cut tile wet when using a fast-moving wet saw to reduce dust and chipping. However, tile can be cut dry when using just about any cutting tool. Dry cutting will result in a bigger mess and may increase the risk of chipping or cracking, but if you’re just making small cuts, dry cutting is a safe and viable option. Cutting dry also means you can apply tile grout sooner, so it’s better for rushed projects.

There are no unbreakable rules of design, but experts recommend against using large tiles in areas with poor subflooring where they’re more prone to cracking, in areas where the floor isn’t entirely level, over raised areas or dips, and in bathrooms where budget is the primary concern. The size of your bathroom shouldn’t be a reason not to use large tiles; in fact, larger tiles, also known as slab tiles, can be a modern and sleek choice for bathroom floors and walls.

Yes, unfortunately, it is normal for wall and floor tiles to crack, especially when you drop heavy items on tiled floors or place heavy objects on them. Tiles are also more susceptible to cracking when ceramic tiles designed for walls are installed on floors, as these are often not strong enough to handle heavy loads from foot traffic and furniture. Similarly, tiles that are installed incorrectly, lack adequate subflooring, or have other installation problems are prone to cracking. To avoid these problems and the inevitable repair and replacement costs they bring, always hire a professional for tile work and follow best practices for installation.

You can purchase natural stone tiles from your local home improvement store or stone distributor.

Simply put, natural stone flooring is a high-end style that outlasts its wood and carpet counterparts. After finding a style you love, a stone flooring company near you can help source and install them for a reliably clean look.
