"Most of the time when I have had contractors come to my home, they call to confirm when they will be there, or if they can?t make it, they will let us know.  So even though I anticipated they were coming, I was not completely prepared for when they showed up.  However, they took care of everything for me, such as moving furniture, etc.  They were great about it, and the two-day job ended up being completed in one day.

They had to mix their own stain to match the coloring of the paneling throughout the room.  They really brought my faded paneling back to life using a pickling method.  The only issue I has was that I spoke with the gentleman who provided the bid about trim and wood putty work that was needed, so I assumed they would take care of it.  However, I had to ask them to do this.  I would advise anyone who works with them to itemize everything that needs to be done with the person providing the quote and with the people performing the job to ensure things do not get left out.  When I asked, they were very accommodating and took care of all the details I asked for.

They were very neat, clean, and professional, and when they tell you they will be there, they will be. "

Upholstering questions, answered by experts

When reviewing quotes in Longview, be cautious of unusually low estimates, vague or incomplete written details, and requests for large upfront payments. Lack of local references, reluctance to show a portfolio, or limited fabric options may indicate inexperience. If a professional avoids discussing moisture protection or doesn’t offer a workmanship guarantee, consider other options. Clear communication and transparency are key indicators of reputable upholsterers.

Helpful?

In Longview, older homes may have narrow hallways or tight staircases that make moving large furniture challenging. Homes in flood-prone areas or with poor ventilation require extra moisture protection for upholstered pieces. Split-level layouts and steep driveways can also complicate delivery. Measure all entry points in advance, clear pathways, and consult a local upholsterer for an on-site assessment to anticipate and address any unique access issues.

Helpful?

Combining upholstering with other home improvements in Longview can streamline your renovation process and minimize disruption. Consider coordinating upholstery with interior painting, new flooring, or window treatment installations, especially during dry weather. Address any moisture or ventilation issues first to protect your investment. Choosing local contractors who offer multiple services can simplify scheduling and help ensure a cohesive look throughout your home.

Helpful?

For a safer, family-friendly upholstering project in Longview, select durable, stain-resistant fabrics and request low-VOC adhesives to reduce indoor air concerns. Schedule work when children and pets are out of the house, and allow extra ventilation time due to local humidity. Confirm all staples and sharp materials are cleared away, and ask your upholsterer about hypoallergenic or flame-retardant fabric options suitable for active households.

Helpful?

After completing an upholstering project in Longview, allow adhesives and finishes to cure fully—typically 24-48 hours—before using the furniture. Keep upholstered pieces away from direct sunlight and damp areas to prevent fading or mold. Apply a fabric protector within the first week, and set reminders for regular vacuuming. Schedule a 30-day check-in with your upholsterer to address any early wear or adjustments.
