Hey all, My name is Matt Kruger, Owner of The Premium Handyman Vancouver to Longview LLC. I've enjoyed fixing things and helping people since my very first job at Ace Hardware 20+ years ago. Over the last 2 decades, I've been able to hone in on my home remodeling/maintenance skills and am able to complete a wide variety of tasks. I decided to get licensed as a general contractor because there are a lot of home maintenance, remodeling, and fix-it tasks that many homeowners may not know how to do or don't feel comfortable doing themselves. On top of that, I noticed a lot of contractors are charging an egregious amount to homeowners, sometimes as high as $200/hr. Insane! I wanted to create a business that was ethical, fair, and honest to the people of Clark and Cowlitz County Washington. "We actually had Bellos Construction do considerably more than just a bathroom remodel. Additional work included installing flooring, installing insulation and drywall, demolition work, roofing repair, etc. Overall the experience was good. Jose is very responsive and helped me out quite a bit dealing with renovating and repairing an older house that was not properly taken care of by the previous owners/renters. The only real issue we had was confirming the materials that would be installed in the bathroom (i.e., fixtures, etc). There was some miscommunication there that probably was not helped by the fact we are out of state and trying to manage a construction project. One thing that stood out about Jose was his willingness to help out with things that didn't fall under his contractual obligations. For example, he helped me transport a water tank when he didn't need to do so. If we have a need for services that Bellos Construction offers, then we will definitely consider them in the future given our experiences with them."

"I could not be more happy with my experience with Twin City painting! They are professional from start to finish. They have so many years of experience in this area it shows in their work and end product! The communication was great from top to bottom. I had LOTS of questions and they were all answered in great detail. The employees are clearly engaged and honest. The salesman/estimator, Seth, was fantastic and then the project manager, Ian, was just a pleasure to work with. Very detail oriented and always goes the extra mile. The painters were efficient, friendly and did a fantastic job. They kept a very clean job site. I can't find an area of the house I'm not pleased with. They paint the house by hand and have an amazing 7 year warranty! Painting by hand is more expensive than painting with sprayers, but the qualify, customer service and long warranty make it more than worth it! While porches and decks are similar in some ways, the two structures aren’t exactly the same by definition. A porch is a covered structure that’s usually attached to the front of a home. On the other hand, a deck is an open structure without a roof that’s often attached to the side or back of a home.

Most two-person porch swings are rated to hold up to 500 pounds or more. However, each swing manufacturer has its own recommended weight limits, with some as low as 250 pounds while others are as high as 800 pounds. Several types of porches are available to meet your needs and style preferences. Some common porch types include:

  • Porticos are essentially a roof over a walkway leading to the home's front entrance. 

  • Sunrooms are closed-in porches that are an extension of the house with glass or plastic panels that allow optimal sunlight. 

  • Wraparound porches extend around the entire home, or at least the front and one side, and offer multiple entrances to the house.

  • Back porches are an extension of the home’s floor into the outdoors. These offer more protection and privacy than a deck.

The cost to repair a deck is between $900 and $3,500, depending on the cause and extent of the damage. For example, fixing a sinking deck caused by pest damage can cost between $200 and $600, while replacing sinking boards costs between $500 and $4,000.
