Alamo was easy to work with. They came highly recommended. A small shop in my neighborhood. Very nice people. More importantly, they did a great job making sure the imagery on the fabric was placed the way I wanted it. Their recommendations were great. Good price.

There wasn't enough for the job, but Alamo found a perfect synthetic match for the side panels. They get the work done quickly, before out of town guests arrived!

My experience with them was great. They were fast. In fact they speeded up their regular timetable because I needed it quickly. They are really nice people to work with. They are very responsible. They came and took the couch away and brought it back and they were just really careful about moving it and they did a really good job. It was not just upholstering in terms of the fabric on the outside, but they also completely redid all the foam and different layers of padding on the couch. I would definitely recommend them.

Very positive experience from the estimate to delivery of our beautifully reupholstered davenports. Very courteous, prompt service; very helpful and informative (regarding the process they would use and things they could do to make the furniture more comfortable); provided pictures of the gutted couches and the work performed on the spring system. They reinstalled the brass name plates and kept the original recessed casters (as I requested) while installing new casters to slightly raise the frames off the floor. We have two other pieces we are looking forward to having them do in the future.

They did a great job recovering my favorite BIG old chair and ottoman. Delphina gave me an estimate over the phone but I had a feeling it would be a bit more once she saw the size of the chair. I was right but she only increased the price by around $50. I provided the fabric which I bought at a fabric outlet store. Altogether I was impressed by the price and the quality of the work. They put in extra zippers so that even the throw pillows can be washed. And piping along the edges which adds a nice touch. They also added some foam and batting. It's like a brand new chair. When they ran short of my fabric, they found a great match for under the seat cushion at no extra charge. I also get the feeling that if I had not been satisfied they would have worked to fix the problem. They even give you before, during and after photos. It was cool to see the bones of the chair. Supporting these at home/shop upholsters is a great thing to do. Don't go to a big shop, pay twice as much and wait twice as long. I'm happy and I love my chair! It's beautiful.

Smooth as glass. The owner, his wife and one of his sons came by the same day that I called, appraised the work to be done, took a deposit, put the sofa in their truck and promised it would be repaired and returned within a week. It was finished and returned in three days.

Delphina and Eusebio Lona are so easy to work with and never took us for granted as repeat customers. Our sofa happened to be featured in an Oregonian article because the paper asked Alamo to let them know when they had their next sofa project (http://www.oregonlive.com/hg/index.ssf/2009/03/sofa_rehab_101_5_ways_to_get_a.html). When we asked them to work on the $20 garage-sale-rocker they suggested leather and we couldn't be happier. In fact I paid more than they asked because they'd done some extra work to rehab the wood. They are reasonable and the quality of work is consistently outstanding. I recommend them completely!

They did a very nice job with the recliner. They were easy to work with, the price was reasonable, and I would recommend them to others.

I met with them to get an estimate and figure out how much fabric I should buy. They were very nice, professional and FAST! I dropped off the fabric on Monday morning, my cushions were done on Thursday morning.

They were very friendly and offered me a variety of options in regards to firmness for the cushion material. I left the cushion cover with them, and within a few days they had the new insert ready to go.

They gave me an estimate over the phone that was substantially less than the overall job cost, but once they saw the cushions and discussed in detail what I was seeking, they suggested various changes. I wanted firmer cushions, and they suggested that foam core with down surround would probably be firmer, so we negotiated the thickness and firmness of the foam--they had various samples. One surprise was that they wanted me to supply the down, so I bought 10 of the cheapest feather-filled pillows I could find at a large-box chain store. The couch cushions came out exactly as I wanted, but the chair cushion felt overstuffed, so I took it back and they removed some of the down at no extra charge.

These are such nice people! They are a mom and pop upholstery service run out of their home in North Portland. I bought the leather off of eBay and then they reupholstered and delivered the chair. I also had 2 other small items repaired by them. The quality of work is good and I truly recommend supporting this shop.

Alamo was terrific! The family came to our house with stacks of fabric books so we could choose fabrics in our lighting/furniture context. Once we decided on a fabric, they picked up the slipper chair and took it with them. Three weeks later, they delivered both the slipper chair and the custom headboard, which was built exactly to specifications.

LOVELY FAMILY BUSINESS. IT'S LOCATED IN A HOME WITH THE ENTRANCE ON THE SIDE STREET. SMALL DOOR TO THE BASEMENT WITH A TINY SIGN SO DON'T MISS IT! THERE WERE LOTS OF WORKS IN PROGRESS WHICH WERE MUCH MORE COMPLICATED THAN MY LITTLE PILLOW; SOFAS AND SEVERAL CHAIRS. I GOT MY PIECE BACK IN THREE DAYS AND IT WAS MUCH BETTER THAN I EXPECTED AND INCREDIBLY REASONABLE!
