"Cypress answered my call immediately and took the table the same day. I provided a color sample for them to match. I was given an estimated time of 3-4 weeks which I thought was optimistic. It ultimately took 7 weeks, but I wasn't in a hurry. They did a beautiful job on a piece of furniture that holds great sentimental value. They carefully maintained a bit of writing on the underside that I wanted to keep. They also did a fine job of matching my color sample. Cypress Tree is a little difficult to find in the back of an office park, but Google brought me close enough to figure out the unit numbering scheme."

Bedrooms & More is a family owned company. Our first Seattle location opened in 1972 and we've since supplied the Puget Sound region with high quality bedroom furniture and mattresses. Our brick and mortar store is located in the Wallingford neighborhood, just across I-5, west of the University District. We have a large local delivery area, our delivery and service team is top-notch and courteous, and we ship most of our products nationwide at your request. We're known for our comfortable and durable 2-sided mattresses, which feature materials including botanical latex, organic cotton, wool, and traditional innerspring. (Flippable mattresses last up to 3 times as long as today's 'can't flip' mattresses; that's why 2-sided is all we sell!) In addition to mattresses for adults, kids, and baby, we carry a large selection of solid wood, handcrafted bedroom furniture, from platform beds and beautiful bedroom sets to iron bed frames, futons, bunk beds, and gorgeous leather and upholstered seating. Whether your style is Traditional, Transitional, Asian/Zen, Contemporary, Rustic Industrial, or Modern Danish, you're sure to find a piece you love. Our 45th Street Bedding line is second to none when it comes to breathability, moisture-wicking, and temperature regulation. Our comforters, blankets, pillows, mattress pads, and mattress toppers feature eco-friendly, plant-based materials including cotton, washable wool, and latex. We are a kid-friendly store complete with a small children's area for quiet play while parents shop. We also provide complimentary coffee and fruit to our customers. Stop in and see us, or contact us with your requirements and one of our sales professionals will work directly with you to meet your needs. Be sure to ask about our financing!

Furniture Refinishing questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can tackle small rooms yourself if you're handy and have a flat, clean subfloor to work with. But seams must be sealed properly, or the barrier will fail. Any gaps will let moisture sneak through and defeat the purpose of installing this more expensive type of carpet padding. For larger rooms or areas, professional installation is usually worth the extra cost.

If your wood furniture is sticky after already cleaning it, it’s likely from using too many polishes or waxes. You’ll need to remove some of the excess wax with a cloth and warm water mixed with dish soap. You can then reapply the wax or polish afterwards, but try to use a much smaller amount and wipe away any excess.

When browsing the hardware store, you may wonder about wood putty versus wood filler. Wood putty is made with plastic adhesive, whereas wood filler is made from sawdust or wood products.

The main difference is that people use wood filler to fix the interior portions of wood. Wood putty contains chemicals that could damage the inside of wood, so it's best for exterior sections. If the crack or hole goes into the middle of the lumber, it's the right product for the job.

The cost to refinish furniture varies significantly depending on the type of furniture, its material, and its age, but the average cost is about $600 per piece. For larger pieces or antique pieces that require greater care, you could pay up to around $1,000 per piece for refinishing. Small pieces of furniture like bar stools or dining chairs usually cost between $100 and $400 each. Your refinishing professional might charge by the hour rather than by piece, in which case you would expect to spend $40 to $100 per hour of work required.

Avoid using wood filler for structural repairs or areas with extensive damage. Wood filler is designed for cosmetic fixes like filling small holes, cracks, or surface imperfections, and it doesn't provide the strength needed for load-bearing repairs or large gaps. You also shouldn’t use wood filler in areas exposed to heavy moisture or extreme outdoor conditions unless it’s a product specifically rated for such environments. Wood replacement or a strong epoxy resin is a better solution for severe rot or structural damage.
