This is an excellent company and we would use them again for any refinishing needs.  They were very communicative on all project planning and answering any questions we had, showed up on time and as scheduled, strong attention to detail, and very respectful of our home.  We were fortunate to have Ruben on our project, who has many years of experience.  His attention to detail and precision were much admired.  Pricing was as agreed.  The job turned out beautifully!

Both tubs look like new and the work was done in a timely fashion and the place left clean. They came back a couple of days later and caulked around the tubs and removed all the tape from the faucets. I would use them again.

We hired Stanley Ave Tub to refinish our cast iron bathtub as part of our bathroom remodel. The scheduling process went fine, and we were able to get someone in pretty quickly, but the experience we had was AWFUL. The person doing the work was extremely careless. How?
1) They damaged the paint on our walls in several (at least 10) places
2) They left our bathtub with drips EVERYWHERE. The entire front of the tub has lines of drips all the way across, and the inside has more.
3) They broke a window. The smell of their product is overwhelmingly awful, actually made me sick. When the person performing the service was here, he asked to open a window in our son's playroom for ventilation. Made sense because of the pungent smell. When we got back to the house later, the window he used was completely broken. What's better is that the serviceman said that he didn't do it. Like the window was like that... Umm, NO! Because yeah, we're the type of people that would allow for broken glass in our son's playroom. Makes sense.
My husband called their office and they offered to repair the window and fix their poor job on the tub, however, they were not flexible about the scheduling.

Overall, the service was excellent. They were right on time, picked up the tub with no trouble, refinished it in three weeks as they had estimated and delivered it to the house right on time as well. They did a great job on the refinishing and would use them again for other refinishing work. Also, I felt their pricing was a good value for the pickup/delivery and refinishing work.

Wow! They did a fantastic job. Run into a small problem and they were careful to explain the problem, provide all the options with pros and cons to enable me to make a decision.
The job still looks fantastic 8 months later!
Worth every penny.

The first tub was done and looked great. However, there were a few minor issues. I noticed a light blue and quot;stainand quot; I could not get off on my white vinyl flooring. The crack they had told me they could fix was very visible and looked as if some water could still get behind it. They had left the some of the fixtures off and the protective paper taped on the wall. I reached up and tugged the paper off. A lot of the paint and drywall stuck to the tape leaving me with a jagged edge about 1/2 inch wide around the tub to repaint. (I am short and having no idea this could happen, just tugged!) I called the company to ask about the and quot;issuesand quot; and was told they would send someone out that night at 5 to talk to me about it.
At 5 pm they called to see if I was home. Someone came about 30 minutes later. I showed him my issues. He immediately told me none of it was the company's fault. He told me the stain had to have been there before and that there was nothing they had to make a blue stain. I asked him to call the workman and check. He did, then continued to tell me they did not deliberately try to ruin their customer's personal property, he would take me to the factory so I could see they had nothing that color, etc. I didn't know what to say. It wasn't there before, but was after. I was also told the crack could not be fixed because my pipes were corroded and would break if they removed the faucet. I asked how he knew and he told me he could not easily turn the faucet. I pointed out the refinishing and quot;stuffand quot; they used had sealed the faucet to the wall of the tub. Didn't matter. Still not their fault and couldn't be fixed. And the paint pulled off because it was wet, but I hadn't painted in 2 months. Then it had to have been primed incorrectly. It just does that sometimes and that is why they leave the paper on. No, I was not told to be careful taking off the paper.
Then for some reason after arguing about it for over 20 minutes, he decided he would try to remove the stain. However, he made it extremely clear this was a customer courtesy and he was doing me a favor because it could not have been their fault. When he went to his truck I was almost in tears and very angry. I called and cancelled my 2nd tub scheduled for the next day. Linda, the phone person, was very understanding and kind. I asked her to send me an invoice for the one tub, but she refused to bill me. After the man was done, he had magically removed the stain, put the fixtures back on, and fixed the unfixable crack. He promptly placed an invoice on my table and waited for payment. I asked him to call his office. He got upset and told me he was the owner and he didn't need to call his office. I repeated he needed to call several times and eventually he did. After about 5 minutes on the phone, he turned around and said, and quot;Guess you got a freebieand quot; and walked out.
I will NEVER use this company again. While I appreciate Linda's efforts to make up for the way I was treated, I am not used to being bullied like that. Tub looks great, but if you have any problems, the customer service really is horrible.

Stanley's was recommended to me by at least 3 other people. I called and was given an estimate of $425 for the tub refinishing, with $100 for stripping it because it had been refinished before. Stanley's also gave me a 10% angie's list discount, for a total of $472.50. This was done via telephone, with no email or paper backup. The job went well, the guys were quiet and polite and punctual. At the end they presented me with a bill of $495: $450 for the refinishing, 100 for the stripping, and the 10% discount. We called the office, and they confirmed the price, but I told them they'd estimated the refinishing at $425 not $450, so they accepted the $472. Lessoned learned: Always get the estimate in writing. It turned out OK but it was a bit embarrassing all around.

Ruben arrived right on time...was very nice, explained everything to me and then even before starting the job he noticed that my front door knob was loose and fixed that for me!
Then went right to work on the tub. He was very professional, thorough...did an EXCELLENT job. My bathtub was so stained and pitted I was embarassed to have anyone over..now it is so beautiful I may have to re do the rest of the bathroom to live up to the beauty of the bathtub! Thanks alot Ruben :)

They arrived on time and went right to work. It took about 7 hours to prep and refinish the tub. They took extreme care to mask the entire bathroom to prevent over-spray and used a powerful exhaust fan to vent the fumes to the outside. When it was finished the tub looks like new, a great job.

We had only one minor glitch and that was which white was scheduled to be used. Once that was resolved, the work performed went along smoothly. They arrived on time and within four hours, we had a gleaming, white bathtub. They aired out the house and cleaned up after themselves and we were good to go within hours of work performed. Our children have grown so we don't expect to have clunky kitchen utinsils used in our new tub anytime in the future so we're expecting a long life on the already five year warranty.

They were happy to do the work on a Saturday (which is what we wanted). The job was very well done and the tub looks GREAT! The only down side was I had to call back a few days later when I realized they hadn't caulked around the tub. They said they would be happy to stop by and do it for free. When I asked why it hadn't been done during the original visit I was told they have to wait 24 hours to do it, and always include it if asked. It just struck me as odd that they didn't mention this when setting up the appointment, or when they were there doing the work. But in the grand scheme of things, it's a minor quibble, and I would use them again.

Ruben arrived at 8:30 AM, as scheduled, and after explaining to me what he would be doing, and how long it would take, got down to work. He was very careful about carrying his tools, and protecting my space. It's a small bathroom, so he didn't have a lot of room to work. He stripped the old finish off the bottom of the tub, but didn't need to remove the sides or exterior, because they were still in good condition. He cleaned the tub and applied several coats of the new finish, after taping off the rest of the space. He was here about 6 hours, then returned two mornings later to caulk the tub. It was a smooth job from start to finish, and Ruben was very meticulous in his work, and there was no overspray. I have to admit, the process does smell, but a week later, it's hardly noticeable. The tub looks beautiful, and I'm very pleased with the outcome.

Found Stanley highly recommended on Angie's List and called. The process and pricing was explained over the phone (I was familiar with it since I had a tub refinished at a prior residence). The work was scheduled about 10 days in advanced; even though it was set for early on a Monday morning, I got a reminder call Sunday afternoon. Ruben, the refinisher, was prompt, polite and extremely professional. He explained the process again (including the extra step to remove the prior marred refinishing) and went to work. Ruben was incredibly neat and careful, and extremely sensitive about our pet cats. He used a powerful fan to vent the fumes to the back yard; between that and the bathroom vent fan, there was virtually no odor in the house. The job took about five hours, and I think he left the bathroom cleaner than he found it. Ruben also left a written sheet of instructions about cleaning and maintaining the new surface, which is absolutely perfectly gleaming white. We are to replace the caulk along the seam with the tile and the drain plug in 72 hours, and then the tub is ready for general use. Compared to our previous tub refinishing experience years ago in another state, this one was far more professional and the fumes and residue far more contained. Two thumbs up for Ruben!

They scheduled the appointment within a few days and arrived right on time. They spent a LONG time cleaning the shower before spraying on the refinishing. The shower is now bright white and looks new! We're very happy with it. Be forewarned, though, that the smell is almost overpowering. You probably don't want to be in the house during the day. We also needed to sleep in the basement for a couple of days while the smell dissipated. We plan to hire them again to refinish a bathtub in the other bathroom.

The owner or manager gave me a quote over the phone and scheduled the visit. They could have come much sooner but this was scheduled after the tiles surrounding the tub were re-grouted. A technician showed up a few days in advance to verify that this was a regular project with no surprises. The technician arrived as scheduled and performed the work. He used fans and vented the fumes out the bathroom window. The scheduler had warned of the fumes so the appointment was not when young children would be in the house. The tub looks beautiful and like new. I was given a choice of patterns for the non-skid surface. The reason for the B rating is that the diamond pattern was applied using tape to create the grid and the diamonds are not symmetrical, however they cannot be seen without looking closely. I had delayed this project many years for fear the tub would become slippery. It is not and a delight to use.
