"WARNING: Zero Respect for Warranty, Home Comfort Alliance Project Manager: Geoff New Construction Home (Built by LGIHomes) ?I am writing this review to warn any prospective customers, particularly those with new construction or warranty claims, about the appalling experience we had with Home Comfort Alliance. This was not a simple repair; this was a complete failure of installation, service, and professional conduct that dragged on for nearly three months and deeply disrupted our lives. ?We purchased a new construction home where Home Comfort Alliance installed the Mitsubishi heat pump system. Within the first year after moving in, we discovered a major fault?the unit was incorrectly installed, leading to water streaming through our second-floor ceiling and pouring out of the light fixtures and into our kitchen. ?Despite the fact that our brand-new home and the HVAC unit were fully covered under warranty, resolving this issue was like pulling teeth. Trust is important—especially when you're hiring someone to come into your home to repair or install expensive heating and cooling equipment. People all over Washington, including King, Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom and Island Counties, have given us their trust for the past 30 years because we have committed ourselves to providing quality service and the very best value on every visit we make. And we promise the same quality for you and your family.

"They were the first to respond to my call. Pricing was very competitive. They did a great job and I am excited for the warm weather this year."

At Marr’s Heating we have a small core team of employees. We work for the customer to make sure they have a great experience. Our main goal is to provide our customers with one-on-one expertise for all their heating & cooling needs. We are a small business that works hard to leave every customer happy & satisfied. Since 1965, Marr’s Heating & Air Conditioning has been performing quality service on residential & commercial HVAC systems. The local communities have built a trust with us & that trust is extended to all our customers, new or old. We provide service to area cities including Bellingham, Blaine, Deming, Everson, Lynden, Sumas, & all parts of Whatcom County.

"I called Marr's for an estimate for a new furnace/ac. Kyle came out and instantly impressed us with his expertise, thoroughness and friendly demeanor. He explained, in detail, the equipment we would need to have installed to maximize the comfort of our home. Well, we awarded the contract to Marr's. It was a large purchase for us and we were concerned about the quality of the job we would get...well those concerns were squelched almost immediately when Jacob and Wyatt showed up, on time, and well prepared to do the job. They were polite and respectful of our home. They are true professionals and performed the work to completion and to our complete satisfaction. Jacob took the time to go over the operation of the new programmable thermostat for the heating and cooling units. They left the work area in better condition than when they first arrived and the installed equipment looked great! I would recommend Marr's to anyone in a heart beat. Great job guys!!"

Northwest Energy Systems is a full-service HVAC contractor, able to offer services related to complete heating system design, installation, repair or replacement as needed. We work primarily in Whatcom County, and can travel to Skagit or Island counties as requested. Northwest Energy Systems started as a welding shop in 1976 and was called Rite Weld Company until ownership changed in 1993. Over the years the company became more involved with the heating systems and installations, until finally welding was discontinued completely. Since 1976 Northwest Energy Systems has been evolving with the technology required to support, design, build, install, service and maintain anything from basic residential HVAC to complex facility systems. Our services include natural gas or propane forced-air furnaces, heat pump systems, gas or wood fireplaces, water heaters including tankless water heaters, and ductless mini-split heat pump systems. Full ductwork installation or repairs, and we have a full fab shop for custom fittings as needed. We offer 24-hour emergency service for necessary repairs. Our service professionals take great care in addressing the needs of our customers. From the initial contact by the estimator, through installation, and as we finish the job, we ensure good communication with the property owner, making sure all their questions are answered and concerns addressed. We take great pride in our customer’s happiness with their new equipment, our business philosophy being to grow through satisfied customers and “word-of-mouth”. Dan Olson has owned and operated Northwest Energy Systems for nearly 12 years, and worked as the project manager for the previous owner, for 5 years prior to that. I feel confident that we can provide the any services that you need.

We have been serving the area since 1974. We are certified Trane Comfort Specialists and Mitsubishi Diamond Contractors which means we have been identified by those companies for our exceptional install and maintenance of the products we sell. Our service staff is NATE certified. We currently have a staff of sixteen people.

"I bought a furnace from them which came with my first service free, they failed to show up at my 6 mo and didn't check in until year 2 where I showed up in their marketing system to try to get me to re-activate and buy into a service plan. Then when I did have an issue, I called because my furnace is still under warranty. They come out to tell me what I told them, my thermostat is dead and needs replacing. Did they bring the part? Nope, and that still cost me $160. On top of that they said it would be a second service fee plus labor to bring the part back the next day and install. Then they thought they could get cute. Since I was going to be out about $350 bucks for a warranty replacement they said I could sign up for a service plan today to save $10-20 because they would just count this as 2 of my 3 service visits. Since I wasn't able to be there, as I'm taking my fiancee to the doctor to get diagnosed with cancer the service member gladly took the cc# from my son and automatically enrolled me because he was doing me a favor."

Indoor Comfort, Heatlh & Energy Efficiency Experts for your home. Barron is the areas leader in understanding how building science plays a major role in the comfort, health and overall efficiency of your home. This includes the home heating & cooling system, specifically how the home and duct system relate to the heating/cooling systems performance within the home.

"We hired Barron Heating because years ago they were a good company and did good work for us. This time however, I have to say they are the worst contractor we have hired in 45 years of home ownership. The salesman told us they could fit an upgraded furnace in our existing space. They were not able to fit it where they said they could, and it obstructed the laundry room doorway so badly that the washer and dryer would not fit through the doorway without removing the furnace again. For the next six months, they stalled, made excuses, and lied (in writing) about coming back to do the job properly. At that point, we hired a lawyer and notified them of our intent to sue for breach of contract, including failure to have the required state inspection performed. Only after being faced with the choice of going to court or fulfilling their contract did they take any tangible action to properly reinstall the furnace. Unless you don’t mind the possibility of 17 months plus the additional cost of a lawyer and process server to get a simple furnace installed and legally inspected, learn from our mistake - hire a different contractor."

Gas Leak Repair questions, answered by experts

Almost all new buildings in California need an earthquake shut-off valve. The requirements for an earthquake gas shut-off valve (and who can install it) depend on where you live. For example, according to the Los Angeles Municipal Code, you’re required to hire a licensed contractor to install one whenever you build, sell, or renovate a home. Check with your local building department for your city’s laws on installing, permitting, and inspecting earthquake shut-off valves.

For one, natural gas is more affordable than electricity, meaning your wallet might see an overall savings over time. The biggest positive of installing a gas line is that gas-powered appliances will still work during a power outage, so your gas fireplace will keep your home warm and toasty during a blackout.

Shut-off valves, like any other piece of metal hardware, can corrode, age, get worn down, and eventually break or rust into place. Occasionally spray your shut-off valve with WD-40 to stall it from rusting. If it really gets stuck, a wrench and WD-40 will usually do the trick, but you will need to call a plumber if it’s completely unmovable.

Costs depend on furnace size, ductwork modifications, labor, and efficiency ratings of the chosen system.

Most gas companies and utilities brokers will send a technician to relight a pilot light, but this may demand a service call fee. Contact your local gas company to inquire about available pilot light services. If it’s a no-go, just follow the aforementioned steps and light the manual boiler’s pilot light yourself.
