Northwest Energy Systems
About us
Northwest Energy Systems is a full-service HVAC contractor, able to offer services related to complete heating system design, installation, repair or replacement as needed. We work primarily in Whatcom County, and can travel to Skagit or Island counties as requested. Northwest Energy Systems started as a welding shop in 1976 and was called Rite Weld Company until ownership changed in 1993. Over the years the company became more involved with the heating systems and installations, until finally welding was discontinued completely. Since 1976 Northwest Energy Systems has been evolving with the technology required to support, design, build, install, service and maintain anything from basic residential HVAC to complex facility systems. Our services include natural gas or propane forced-air furnaces, heat pump systems, gas or wood fireplaces, water heaters including tankless water heaters, and ductless mini-split heat pump systems. Full ductwork installation or repairs, and we have a full fab shop for custom fittings as needed. We offer 24-hour emergency service for necessary repairs. Our service professionals take great care in addressing the needs of our customers. From the initial contact by the estimator, through installation, and as we finish the job, we ensure good communication with the property owner, making sure all their questions are answered and concerns addressed. We take great pride in our customer’s happiness with their new equipment, our business philosophy being to grow through satisfied customers and “word-of-mouth”. Dan Olson has owned and operated Northwest Energy Systems for nearly 12 years, and worked as the project manager for the previous owner, for 5 years prior to that. I feel confident that we can provide the any services that you need.

the installation a work of art. We show it to everyone who visits.
When we had some questions about the hot water heater, they sent out a
service man who spent several hours checking the hot water heater and
consulting the maker (Noritz). After much discussion it was concluded
that our recently installed water reducer shower head was the cause of
our problem (took forever to get hot water at the shower head and it
cooled during the shower). By turning on the sink faucet at the same
time as the shower, we resolved our problems. We, of course, turn off
the sink as soon as the shower water gets hot
Northwest Energy Systems I'd like to compliment two of the employees, Elmer the Technician, and Janine the Office Manager. They both provided excellent customer service, to me on Tuesday July 30th. Elmer did an amazing job on the yearly maintenance service on our furnace and balancing the air flow in our HVAC system. Knowing that the furnace and HVAC air flow was maintenance properly, will not only make our home more comfortable throughout, it will also make the system run more efficiently. Efficient operation of the HVAC unit means lower utility bills and most important to me are the safety of my family and a peace of mind as a homeowner. Therefore I’m pleased to recommend Northwest Energy Systems without hesitation for the services they provide. They both showed professionalism and ability to get to the bottom of the situation quickly exceeded my expectations. Such a commitment to great customer service is to be commended. You can be sure that I will continue to do business with Northwest Energy System years to come.
When we finally decided who to hire for the job and what system to choose, they were back quickly (they stock the furnaces they sell) and installed a new, more efficient furnace in just a few hours.
I had questions about upgrading the heating system and installing a heat pump to make the system more energy efficient. The serviceman gave me a name and number to call at the company, which I did. Joe answered my questions with detailed information so I was able to make an informed decision about when and how to upgrade.
I had called a couple other companies in town, but they couldn't give me a quote, because they based their rate on my location-distance from their store-what needed to be fixed and how long they were on the job. I don't like this type of quote because I have no way to compare it to other companies and I feel like once they are at my house, I can't refuse payment.
Overall, we are very happy with our experience with NES!
